Jacey's pov
All I knew was in that moment, I was content. I'm not quite sure what the hell I was thinking, fucking kissing my best friend. But I truly liked it and never wanted to stop.
As I pulled away, I noticed the surprised look on Ashton's face.
What have I done? I've ruined our friendship. This isn't a game. What am I doing?
"I'm so sorry. I-" I started. "Don't even apologize, Jacey," Ashton interrupted me. And with that, he stood up and glided to his room.
Great. Look what I've done now.
I decided to leave him alone while I prepared lunch, ham sandwiches. Yes, just regular sandwiches. Nothing special. I haven't tried to cook since the last time I caught the stove on fire.*Flashback*
I was in the process of making some spaghetti when I carelessly shoved the noodles into a tall pot and placed it on the stove, forgetting to add water. After about two minutes, flames erupted from the large pot. "ASHTON!" I yelled, panicking. He bolted into the kitchen (nearly tripping on the way), slammed a cabinet open, and pulled out a bright red fire extinguisher. After a while of him spraying the fire and me beating it with a small towel, the fire disappeared. "Nice move," Ashton laughed. "Oh shush," I replied, embarrassed. To make a long story short, we decided on Chinese take out that night.

She kissed me. Jacey kissed me. Not to use me for lessons this time. SHE ACTUALLY KISSED ME.
I didn't know how to react so I said the first thing on my mind and then sped off to my dimly lit bedroom. I guess it was my fault for running off instead of facing reality, but it did upset me that she didn't bother chasing after me. "Eh, whatever," I thought.
No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't stop thinking about her. Her lips, her eyes, her hair, her smile, her nose, facial structure, and not to mention her body. I love everything about her. She's so perfect. So so beauti-
Suddenly, my phone rang, interrupting my thoughts.
"Hello?" I answered, not bothering to look at the caller ID.
"Lunch is ready," I heard a soft voice say before I heard a loud beep signifying that they had hung up.
Jacey.
I cleared my head of any thoughts before jogging out of my room and into the spacious hallway, almost running straight into my best friend. "Here you go," she smiled as she handed me a plate containing a small sandwich. She continued, "drinks are in the kitchen. Leftover brownies for dessert." "Thanks," I mumbled before speed walking back to my room and plopping onto my comfy, white bed. I began eating. Ham, mayonnaise, white bread. She knew me well.Jacey's pov
Ashton hasn't spoken much since the incident. I can't help but blame myself for jeopardizing our long term friendship. We've been friends for years and I just had to fuck it up. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get us back the way we were. And I'm not quite sure that's what I want either.
