"The odds that both our soulmates would be in the same place at the same time, only us." Zero rolled her eyes, pulling into Toys-R-Us as I pored over the architecture books like I'd be quizzed on it tomorrow.
I couldn't help but scoff. "They'd better not be twins as well, way too many cliches for me to handle."
"True."
I exited the car, my nose still in the book as I mentally thanked my soul mate cause this crap was actually kind of interesting.
Zero glanced at me and rolled her eyes. "I thought you were afraid of meeting your soul mate."
I frowned indignantly, letting out a little huff as we stepped through the automatic doors heading towards the stuffed animals. "I'm not afraid, I'm hesitant. There's a difference. Plus, I happen to like architecture, thank you very much."
"Nevah, I clearly recall a conversation where you said you wouldn't be an architect of your life depended on it."
"Oooh look, Rilakkuma!" I charged towards the giant Rilakkuma stuffie that was as life-sized as they come, half to get away from that conversation and half because holy shit, it's a life-size Rilakkuma.
"ZERO, LOOK AT IT! OH MY GOSH, IT'S SO FLUFFY I COULD DIE!"
Zero watched as I continued squealing and fawning over the stuffie like I'd found the Haruhi to my Tamaki and she shook her head.
"Nevah, it's literally bigger than you are."
"But I can use it to cuddle when you're busy." I pouted like a five-year old cause I really wanted this stuffie.
She sighed and I could see people slightly gawking at us because here I was in my all black with my silver hair and dark makeup actually fawning, begging, and pouting over a stuffed animal.
"Fine, whatever. Do you want a small and medium size Rilakkuma too?"
My eyes lit up and I rocked back and forth on my heels in excitement as I nodded. "Yes please."
She nodded, grabbing the other two stuffies and throwing them in the cart.
She wanted to get an owl and a bunny stuffie and on the way I happened to glimpse a kitty and a wolf stuffie that I just had to have.
Wordlessly, she reached down and grabbed the ones I wanted in the color silver because she knew that that was the only color I considered to be better than black, except where most wardrobe was concerned.
When we got to the cash register, me lugging a huge Rilakkuma and Zero with a cart full of stuffed animals, the cashier smiled at us as we put the items on the counter and she rang them up.
"Wow, are you guys getting presents for a little cousin? They'll love these."
Zero and I looked at each other then at the cashier and said in deadpanned unison, "These are for us."
She tried to avoid eye contact for the rest of the time she was ringing us up.
At the art supply store, Zero and I each grabbed a cart and went our separate ways because we were each out of different things and we we're each focused on the clear-cut mental check-out in my head.
It didn't take long though because I knew where everything was. Colorless Blender from Copic. Hella amounts of large canvases. Tubes of acrylics and a new watercolor pallette. Charcoal. Prismacolor Verithins. And skin-toned Copic markers.
By the time we got back in the car filled with books, stuffies, and art supplies, I felt like my life was extremely fulfilled.
