"You guys did good." Hyuna said when the class ended to which Zero and I rolled our eyes. "We grew up with you, how could we not be?"

"What about me?" Jinyoung pouted to which Zero rolled her eyes. "J, growing up with you, I'm surprised we're not brain-dead."

"Hey!" he protested to which I rolled my eyes because he knew it was true just as well as I did.

Our older cousin, Hyuna, who was more like an older sister, ran a chain of successful dance studios and prouduced music for and featured in songs with various artists along with her younger brother Jinyoung.

They'd taught Zero and I dance and inspired a love of music in us from an early age and other than our parents, they were the only members of our family that we actually interacted with.

We attended Hyuna's dance classes often and we always went out to eat afterwards.

Class had ended five minutes ago and Hyuna was just tidying up the studio with Jinyoung as we waited on Hyuna's soulmate, Ilhoon, while Zero and I sat in the floor, me in Lali's lap and my head comfortably in her chest as I watched Himouto Umaruchan on my phone while Zero and Rose scrolled through art on Tumblr.

Throughout school, Zero and I had had friends, of course but they were really casual friendships comprised of shallow small talk.

Except when we met Lali (whom everyone one else but us called Lisa), Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo in the last year of middle school.

There hadn't been an instant connection, in fact it had taken all of us six months to get used to each other and another six months to get close.

But by the time the first year of high school hit, we were pretty much inseparable.

After high school, we'd all decided to take a year off until college. We spent the first six months just travelling together and the last six months everyone had gone home to their family, Jisoo in Korea, Jennie in the Netherlands, Rose in Australia, and Lali in Thailand.

I think we were all trying to figure out what we actually wanted.

But with two weeks left until our first semester at Ohio State and orientation right around the corner, they're back now and we're basically just dreading the days until the semester starts.

"Have you guys even picked a major?" Jinyoung asked as he cleaned the mirrors.

"Art major, music minor." Zero and I replied instantly while joined in by Lali, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rose all of which either said Dance or Music or both.

He rolled his eyes, "Should've known."

"Jagi!" We knew from the use of the Korean term of endearment that it had to be Ilhoon finally arriving. He had been born and raised in Korea and only came to study music here three years ago.

Hyuna was Korean too, but had moved here with our aunt when she was five so on the inside she was as American as we were, but I think she was kind of relieved to see that her soulmate was from Korea because he always told her about their lifestyle and culture that she didn't get to experience.

Zero, Jinyoung, Rose, and I made gagging noises as she ran to him and he kissed her.

"Could you not?" Lali looked disgusted to which Ilhoon only rolled his eyes playfully. "Shut it, Lisa."

Zero and I snickered and Ilhoon turned his attention to us, smiling when he did.

Other than the fact that he made Hyuna happy, there were some key reasons why Zero and I liked Ilhoon.

1. He treated us like his little sisters (even if he was way too damn overprotective).

2. He had a habit of giving us awesome presents whenever he went more than two weeks without seeing us.

This was fortunately one of those times. It was a bit counter- productive that we always snuck money back into his wallet to pay him back but I think we were always just happy that he cared.

So after he almost killed us in a fucking bear hug, we were unsurprised to find that he produced two gift bags from behind his back.

I lost my shit when I saw an Umaruchan stuffie, an extra-large mixed media sketchbook, and a huge set of brushes and soft pastels.

Zero was freaking out over her oil pastels, a boxed set of the Gone series, acrylic set, and a bunny stuffie while Lisa and Rose "secretly" filmed us for evidence later on when we inevitably say that we're punk rock and we do what we want.
