Chapter fifteen

I sit at my desk in a daze, smiling like a loon at my computer screen as if the fabric patterns are the best things I have ever seen. I have a feeling the spring lines I'm selecting will be very romantic for next year. How can I not feel romantic when I'm in love like this? Jace loves me. God he loves me so good. I thought I was going to die of pleasure, is that possible? I'm sure I will find out.
Waking up to his kisses was the best, and it was definitely worth getting my creep on and sneaking into his bed.
My phone rings and I jump hoping it's my man, almost as good. I smile like crazy.
"Hello Mrs Bentley" I giggle.
"Hello Mrs Masters" she giggles back.
What!? does she know about us?
"Ha dream on girlfriend" I bark out a laugh. "How's Alaska? How's married life? How was your flight? How are you? God I miss you" I tell her.
"Okay, slow down. Alaska is so beautiful, married life is so beautiful, my flight was long and good, so good. Me, I'm good too. So fucking good Beth" she sighs.
"Oh Isabel, you sound happy. I'm happy for you, tell Coop I'm going to bake him a cake for making you so happy" I sigh.
"I'm sure he'll love that" she giggles. "Now tell me about you, any news you want to share with me?" She asks excitedly
"Oh god he got to you first didn't he?" I gasp.
"Who did?" She asks innocently
"Your fucking Big Man, I should have known he'd go blabbing to you" I laugh.
"What would he tell me Beth?" She smiles, I can hear it in her voice.
"That he's my boyfriend, that I'm in love with him, that he makes me scream?" I blush so hard and Izzy squeals in my ear.
"No he didn't tell me that!" She gasps.
"Oh then never mind" I giggle.
"Elizabeth! He told me the boyfriend part. He was going crazy, have you told him? He told me you two hadn't you know... Had any screaming"
"The screaming and the telling was just a few hours ago, when did you speak to him?" I ask
"Yesterday, sorry I meant to call you soon after but I'm on my honeymoon and you know what no, I'm not sorry. I was very busy and I'm so not sorry" she giggles.
"Izzy it's fine really. What did he say to you?" I ask
"Ha! As if I'd tell you, I will tell you that it seems you make him very happy Lizzy"
"Iz, c'mon give me something" I beg
"He told me about Lilly pad, that's weird. He told me you told him about Jack, did you tell him everything? I didn't add any details and he didn't share what you told him, just that you did. We were on speaker with Coop, who is now very curious and worried"
"Lilly was a shock let me tell you, she's not really on board with us being together. Jace freaked out and I told Lilly we weren't and he didn't disagree. He told his family we were just friends. Then he kisses me and holds me in front of them and punches his sisters boyfriend in the face and kicked him out for touching my shoulder" I sigh.
"Oh god! They obviously don't believe you are just friends then?" She laughs.
"Probably not, his mum doesn't. As for Jack, yeah I told him everything. After the wedding we went back to the penthouse, I thought I was ready... I had a moment. I had to tell him, I wish I hadn't. He lost his shit, it literally knocked him on his ass, broke my heart"
"Oh honey, are you okay? You didn't tell me you hadn't been with anyone after, I thought you had a few times" she tells me sad.
"That's what I let you believe, I'm fine. Jace is....Jace. He is very considerate, gentle" I say blushing again.
"Oh honey I'm glad, I knew he was right for you. Yes I'm going there, I told you so" she giggles happy.
"Yeah well I'll let you claim responsibility for our relationship now, but remember it's your fault when he gets bored and leaves me broken" I tell her.
"Beth" she sighs.
"How do I move on from someone like Jace? I couldn't. No one would compare, I'm ruined now, he's ruined me for all other men. Not that I want anyone else, I'm just saying when he's on to his next girl I'm going to be sitting in the corner hugging the pillow that smells like him" I babble.
"Elizabeth, stop and breathe honey. He loves you, if you want this to last you are going to need to work on the trust. I can't promise the two of you will last forever but if you are looking for reasons for him to leave you he might just find one. Trust he is different from the men you have known, trust you are enough for him. You my gorgeous Lizzy, are amazing, funny, smart and beautiful, any man would have to be crazy to let you go. I've had moments where I've wondered about Jace but I don't think he's crazy" Izzy is firm and kind at the same time telling me what I need to hear.
"I could really use a hug from you right now" I sigh.
"Really? Cause I'm butt naked and covered in man sweat. Coop is in the shower and I'm waiting for my turn" she giggles.
"Okay well yeah, maybe not then" I laugh "Hey Iz? You can tell Coop, about Jack. I don't want to it to become a thing between you two. He hit you, you almost killed him. It's your secret too, Coop should know too. I know it will help him understand your panic attack when Sam was there, he blames himself and he shouldn't. You were scared for me, you knew I couldn't go through that again. In the hospital he couldn't understand why you were so upset, I wanted to tell him, to make him feel better but I couldn't. Tell him I'm sorry"
"What happened to me wasn't your fault either, Beth it was all my brain. Yes I felt like I failed you, if someone hurt you like that again, because of me.... That doesn't make it your fault" she tells me and I still hear the guilt in her voice.
"Love you" I whisper.
"Love you too honey"
"So I'm planning your birthday party" I smile.
"Already? You have two months, you just finished with the wedding. Catch your breath and relax woman" she giggles.
"Nah, I'm having too much fun" I laugh at her.
"Then go nuts girlfriend, you still have my credit card right?" she sighs
"Sure do, you never want it back yeah?" I tease.
"I have others" she mumbles.
"You talking to my brother again?" Coop asks in the background.
Again? Poor Coop.
"No, I'm talking to Beth. Beth say hi" she tells me.
"Hey Coop, good job making the Mrs happy" I tell him
"Thanks Beth, it's kinda in the job description and my wife has me working overtime" he laughs.
"Beth is baking you a cake lover, just cause you make me smile" I hear her snuggling up to him.
"Sounds good to me" he sighs and I know it's because he's happy to be back in her arms, seriously it's like he's in pain till they're touching each other.
"Okay sounds like my time is up, enjoy yourselves beautiful people. I miss your faces already" I smile at the love they share.
"We miss you too Lizzy, and trust me we will. Oh a little tip for you honey, something I learned, don't over think it, just feel it. If it feels right just go with it" she tells me seriously.
"Yeah right, that's how I ended up breaking into Jace's place last night like a crazy stalker while he was at work. His bed was better than mine last night" I say embarrassed.
"And how did that work out for you?" Izzy giggles and I can hear Coop laughing softly.
"So good" I blush.
"Let it be good honey, you deserve good" Iz says softly.
"Coop, Iz is going to tell you a story. Please don't hate me for getting her into that. Bye guys" I sigh.
"Sure Beth, take care" Coop says.
"Bye Beth, talk soon" Izzy says before the line goes dead.
