Chapter 11: Cafe Noir

Damian and Elena sat in the Cafe Noir.
This had become a regular thing for them. It was the week after the competition and thing were becoming stressful for Elena as one of her friends was going to be Elena's partner for the next concert she was playing the violin alongside Elena's playing the piano. Damian was helping her transcribe the piano notes into violin notes for the piece she would be playing next week. It was the least her could do after the dramatic display she had been forced to witness last week. Damian's phone lit up with a text from Alfred, the text was short, Alfred was outside waiting for him.
He looked up Elena and she knew what he meant. "We can finish on Friday", Elena said smiling. Damian could only nod as Elena smiled back at him. "Do you need a life home?"he could feel the sweat on hid neck as he asked the stupid question.
"You're good Damian, thank you but I'll just take the bus home."she said stuffing the pages into her folder and then into her bag. 
They walked to the bus stop, Damian felt better knowing that she got to this bus stop okay.
He waved goodbye as he got into Alfred's car.
"Ah so that's ms. Elena she seems nicer than I was imagined", Alfred smirked.

Damian lifted an eyebrow.
"What's that supposed to mean Alfred?"
Alfred changed the subject quickly. "Your father is still struggling to find the company that's supplying the Joker with the chemicals all Bruce knows is that the company is Gotham based."Alfred stated. And like that Damian's wonderful mundane life was snatched away. "There's only a handful of chemical companies in Gotham, we will just have to go through each on of them with a fine tooth comb."he sighed as he watched Elena's figure get onto the bus and drive in the opposite direction of him.
