Ashley's pov

I sat in my room indecisive, I didn't know what to do. I wanted to marry Soda, really bad, but my parents saved up there precious money for me to go to college. I can't just not go and make it look like I don't care about the sacrifice they made.

"Hey, how ya doing sweetie," my mom said peeking in the door.

"Mom, I have a question,"

"Anything honey," my mom said sitting on the edge of my bed.

"Mom, do I ha.....ehhhhh...do I have to go to college?" I asked nervously.

"Honey, do you really truly love Soda with all your heart?"

"Yes, I do,"

"Then I can't force you to be pulled away from love and do something you completely don't want to do.

"So you guys giving me your blessing to marry him?" I asked trying to hold back my excitement.

"Yes, we give you our blessing," she said smiling.

"Oh my gosh, thank you, thank you, thank you." I said leaving my room.

I walked out the door and ran towards the Curtis house, I now knew what my answer was. I was 100% sure. I want to marry Sodapop Curtis!

Sodas pov

Every hour I wait for Ashley's answer it feels like its been years. Whats even worse is that I have nothing to do, I don't want to eat or sleep. I'm not hungry or tired, it's like my body completely shut off.

I decided to go for a walk, try and clear my head. I walked out to the park and sat down on the bench trying to accept the fact that Ashley might say no and I might never see her again. It was a horrible idea to try and wrap my head around. Without Ashley I would be torn, shot in the heart, ripped in half. Ashley is meant to be my wife and she's gonna be, I hope.

I walked in the house and saw the whole gang standing there and a girl sitting by Darry that I've never seen before.

"Uhh Darry who ya got next to ya there?" I asked trying to break the awkwardness.

"Oh sorry Soda this is Calla," he said standing up with Calla following him.

"Hi," she said simply.

"Hey,"

"So Darry how come I've never heard of you and Calla before," I said turning to look at Darry.

"Uhh we just started dating a few weeks ago and you know 'bout her now," he said chuckling.

"Ahh," I said sitting down next to Steve and starting to talk about random things to try and keep my mind off Ashley. It didnt work, I couldn't stop thinking about the possibility of never seeing her again. Never being able to make her my wife, the worst part that haunts me day and night is that if I wouldn't have cheated on her she might have been my fiancé right now.
