Chapter 17

Ashley's pov

It's been a few months since Austin passed and I'm still really sad, but I'm a whole lot better than I was. I still haven't touched Austin's mess in our room, I can't get up the courage to, it would just be to hard.

I've developed a real hate for socs now since they were the reason my brother passed away. Every time I see a soc someone better hold me back or I'll flat out punch the sucker. I did that to a guy soc and I hit him so hard he walked away crying. That ball baby probably made my brother smile up in heaven.

Today I was going to the Curtis house to meet Ponyboy's new girl, Taylor. From what I've heard about her from Soda she's a perfect match for Pony.

I walked in and saw Pony sitting next to a girl probably Taylor. Man she's real pretty, her blonde curls fell perfectly on her shoulders.

"Hi I'm Ashley, Sodas fiancé," I said holding my hand out.

"Hey, I'm Taylor, Pony's girlfriend, not fiancé," she said shaking my hand back.

"So, how did you guys meet?" I said smiling.

"Well, we met at school, great place right. We ran into each other in the hallway, literally I fell and dropped my books and he helped me pick up my stuff. We introduced ourselves and he asked me to go the drive-in with him, I said yes, of course and the rest is history," she said looking at Pony and smiling, he smiled back and grabbed her hand and they turned to face the gang and everyone burst out laughing.

Pony's cheeks turned red and Taylor just laughed at the embarrassment.

"Man Pony you sure do turn real red, huh," Steve said laughing.

"He's like a tomato," Two-bit said busting out laughing at his stupid joke.

We all sat there sharing stories about relationships, good and bad. We were all like one big happy family, with two new members,Calla and Taylor, that fit right in.

Sodas pov

Sitting talking with the gang was nice, we all were like a family. United we would do anything for each other. It was nice to have so many people you cold count on for support. Taylor, Calla, and Ashley have gotten to all be really good friends. Today everybody is coming with me and Ashley to shop for decorations. I'm actually really surprised we got Johnny, Steve, and Dally (we made up), Two-bit and Sam in her stroller to come but they got guilted into it.

We were going to get married on Texoma lake but according to the girls you need decorations for the chairs. We're just gonna get some cheap bows our something nothing real special.

We all walked into the store and headed over to the decorations and the guys stepped back as the girls looked at all the bows and ribbons, and a bunch of stuff. Man for a grocery store they sure don't go easy on the decorations.

The girls finally decided on a white bow with little sparkly things on it. We got 10 of those and managed to spend only 3 bucks.

Our work here was done. We payed and walked out, with one more thing checked off the list for the wedding, now we just had to come up with a date so we could get the cake, food, suits, Ashley's dress, and all the other things you need for a wedding. Theres just so much stuff I can't keep track.

"So Ashley when are you guys gonna have your wedding?" Taylor asked Ashley.

"I don't know yet, Soda what day were you thinking," Ashley said looking at me.

"Uhh, I don't know maybe, in a few months,"

"Yea we still have quite a bit to plan,"

"So maybe sometime in March," I suggested.

"Yea, March 15, would be nice,"

"Yea, but why March 15,"

"On March 15 my grandma gave me this necklace," she said holding up her necklace from around her neck, "and she told me that you were gonna be my husband someday and I believed her and I've wore it everyday since. So it just seems like a special day,"

" Yea, that's perfect," I said with a reassuring smile.

"So, March 15 is when we'll be getting married to answer your question Taylor."

"That's really romantic, oh when are we gonna get your dress," Taylor asked.

"Well, probably tomorrow would work, the guys could get some suits while we look for dresses,"

"Sounds good, we'll meet you tomorrow," Taylor said while walking towards her house with Calla.

"See ya," Ashley said waving bye.
