Chapter 21- 1 Day Before The Wedding

A few months later

Ashley's pov

There's only one more day before the wedding and I'm so excited I'm about to burst out of body I'm so excited. Today we're going to get the food, not much since we're on a pretty tight budget just snack food for after the wedding. I got out my outfit for the day, a pink long sleeve shirt with white skinny jeans and my silver flats. I went in the bathroom and began curling my hair when I heard a knock on the door.

"Mom tell 'em I'll be ready in about 10," I yelled out to the living room.

"Ok,"

"Yea, she said shed be ready in about 10 minutes,"

"Oh, yea if it's that important. Go ahead," I heard my mom faintly say.

"Ashley, we gotta go. We got a big day today," Taylor said happily with Calla behind her.

"Why right now, only half my hair is curled and the other half is straight so it's not the most attractive,"

"Yea, just put it in a ponytail. We got a surprise for you and we need to get going as fast as possible," Taylor replied smiling like a maniac.

"Ok ok I'm going," I said while hastily putting my hair up in a ponytail.

"The guys are waiting outside in mine and Darry's car, so we can all go to the grocery store," Calla added.

"Ok," I said grabbing a headband and pulling it over my head as we walked out the door.

Me, Calla, and Taylor were in Callas car with Steve, Soda and Sam. While Two-bit, Johnny, Dally, and Pony went with Darry in his car. We drove to the grocery store and walked inside.

We grabbed a lot of crackers, cheese, and a fruit and vegetable platter.

"Fancy huh," Dally asked.

"Yea, as fancy as its gonna get on a tight budget," I said laughing as the guy checked us out.

"Hey, it's food so any idiots who complain can get there own," Dally said seriously.

"Yea, you gotta be grateful for what ya got," I said laughing as I paid the cashier. "so when do I get to find out what my surprise is?" I asked looking at Taylor and Calla.

"Soda," Taylor said looking over at him

"Well, Ashley I thought we could go get your engagement ring a band," Soda said smiling.

"Oh Soda, you don't have to. Remember I told you I didn't need it,"

"Yea I remember, but I want you to have a band. I set aside some money from work and I have enough to get you a band," Soda said

"Ok, I mean I can't say no since I did really want one," I said laughing and giving Soda a hug.

"So you ready to go, we can go pick up my car from the Dx, oh Pony will you take Sam home and all and yawl can watch her," Soda said grabbing my hand and leading me to the Dx. While handing Sam to Pony.

"Soda, you know you really didn't have to do this," I pleaded feeling guilty that I was taking away his money that he worked really hard for.

"Ash come on, I chose to do this for you cause I wanted to, so you don't have to feel guilty,"

"Ok, it's just you worked really hard for your money and I don't wanna just take it away from you for just a material thing,"

"Ok, Ash I want to get you a band cause I love you. Not that you're taking the money away from me, I saved it up for you,"

"Oh, thats so sweet, thanks Soda," I said giving him a kiss on his cheek.








Sodas pov


We arrived in the parking lot of the store where I got Ashley's engagement ring and lead her in. We walked over to the bands and a girl came over to help us.

"How may I help you?"

"Were looking for a band for my fiancés ring," I said pointing to her ring.

"Ok, could you take it off so I could have a closer look," the lady asked as Ashley took off her ring and set it in her hand.

The lady studied it carefully and pulled out multiple designs for rings.

"Ok so there's bands with diamonds, or a more plain style with hearts. Or you have just a hold band which would be more regal, and a little less fun," the lady said pointing at multiple rings.

"I like the diamonds and the hearts but not just the plain gold band," Ashley said to the lady.

"Ok so, I think I have something that wood be prefect for you. I'll be right back," she said walking to the back.

"Thanks again Soda," Ashley said while giving me a hug.

The lady came back out with a band and showed it to Ashley. When she saw it her face lit up.

"Oh my gosh, it's so beautiful." she said gasping.

" So do you want to try it on with your ring," the lady asked kindly.

"Yea," Ashley said sliding the band on with her ring

"Do you like it?" I asked

"Yea, I love it actually," Ashley said smiling from ear to ear

"Ok, then we'll take that one," I said looking at the lady.

"Ok, I'll ring you up," the lady said

The lady put the band in a box and rang us up.

"Thank you so much, that's the most beautiful band I've ever seen," Ashley said kissing me on the cheek.

We walked out of the store with Ashley's band and got in my car heading for her house. We arrived at Ashley's house and we got out.

"I'll see you tomorrow baby, on our wedding day."

"See you tomorrow Soda," she said kissing me passionately, I kissed back and she pulled back and waved then disappeared into her house.

It finally sunk in that the next time I see Ashley we're gonna get married. I got back in my car and drove towards my house excited as heck for my wedding tomorrow.
