Mae had gone to work and on her date, as planned, but the following morning had a different outcome than she'd expected. Her and Ryan, her boyfriend, had gotten in a heated fight- over cake. Now, frosting lined the walls of Ryan's home and clumps of cake could be found all over the floor and the rest of his house.
"Mae! You're cleaning this shit up!"
"You were the one who started throwing it in the first place!" Mae yelled in exasperation. "I brought us two cakes to eat and celebrate. It is our 1 year anniversary, not annual throw Maes cake day!" Her voice became squeaky.
"You smashed the cake in my face! How do you think I feel! You probably gave me a fuckin black eye!" Ryan flung his hands up.
"Man up Ryan!"
"How would you like it if I smashed a cake in your face? That shit is messy!"
"Yeah it's hard to make too!" Her mouth hatdened into a line and she put her hands on her hips.
"It's just cake." He grabbed a towel and started scrubbing the frosting off the wall. "Get a towel and help."
"Fine." Mae picked up a towel and started scrubbing. She didn't even feel angry, it was almost amusing. "Hehe." She giggled.
"Stop laughing." Ryan grumbled from where he was bent over, picking up pieces of chocolate cake.
Mae stared at the glob of frosting in her hand, then back up at ryan. Letting out a little laugh, she flung the frosting at his butt. Letting out a high pitched squeal, she dove behind the bed as he whipped around and pelted her with the cake in his hand.
"Mae!!" He roared then scraped more frosting off the wall and walked around the bed to where she sat beside it. "We were almost done cleaning." He plopped the red frosting on top of her head. A smile slowly slipped up his face. He was fair skinned and had black hair that was fairly short, but frayed out in front. He had soft blue eyes and a blank expression most of the time. When he did smile, it was cute and sincere. "You're pretty cute like that."
"So are you!" Mae scraped it out of her hair and rubbed it across his face, laughing as she did so.
Ryan scrunched up his face as she smeared the frosting, then wiped it off with his hand and wiped it on a towel. Bending down, he grabbed Mae's hand and pulled her up. Staring into her eyes, he examined her for anything she might be feeling that wasn't happiness. In this moment, everything felt so pure. The feeling between them clicked. It was just right.
Mae stared into his eyes in turn, her mouth hanging slightly ajar. What was he thinking?
"Hey I have to go to work, it's already one oclock."
"I have today off, so I can clean up the cake I guess." She rolled her eyes, giving him her sassy look.
"Hey, why don't you get Dawn over here. She can help you out with this." He waved his hand around, motioning to the whole room.
"Alright, I'll call her." Mae smiled.
Ryan couldn't help smiling too. Her rosy cheeks and soft expression was so pure. "Mae," Ryan leaned in and caught her lips with a warm, blossoming passion.
Mae felt liquified, desire fluttering in her chest and fear melting away, along with all of her worries and cares. His kiss was electric, sending chills through her body and his hands slipped down her neck and gripped her shirt.
He ripped her shirt off over her head and threw her back onto the bed. His shirt flew across the room and he began stepping out of his shorts.
"Wait." Mae put a hand out. "You have to work. Lets do this another time."
Ryan froze like a deer caught in headlights. "Uh, okay." He slipped his clothes back on amd planted a kiss on her cheek before running out the door.
Mae sighed and pulled her shirt back on then began scrubbing the walls. Her phone rang from across the room and she ran over to get it.
"Hello?" She answered nervously. She didn't know who this was.
"What do you know about Riane?" They said, humor in their voice.
"Um..."
