"Doctor, will I be okay? Like how long do I have to live?"

"I think the loss of blood was what really made your condition plummet so rapidly. Now that we've given you blood, as long as your wounds heal, you can live a long normal life."

"When can I leave the hospital?" Trojan had something on his mind, and something in his pocket that he'd wanted to use the day he'd been taken.

"I imagine in a week or sooner, as long as we can trust you to nurse yourself back to health."

"You can! I assure you!" Trojan smiled, then it vanished as a coughing fit took over his body.

"It will take time and you'll be on a ton of meds." The doctor was feverishly scribbling down medication names for the nurse beside him. "I'll need these from the basement." He handed the paper to her.

"Your medications will be here shortly and I can explain them to you. You'll have nurses coming in to check on you. If you need anything, press this button." The doctor left.

Trojan looked up at a camera that showed the hallway outside the room. He'd been watching Riane stand out there for what seemed like ages. Silently, he'd willed her to walk in. What was taking her so long?

He smiled, reaching in his pocket. His arms ached and his chest felt like it was on fire. He'd asked not to look in a mirror, because he knew his face was probably one big bruise. But the smile that rested on his lips was just as beautiful as it'd always been. Nothing could change his smile or the humor in his eyes that always lit up a persons face when they spoke to him.

Taking the object out of his pocket, he held it tight against his chest and closed his eyes.

Alexander had told Trojan about Riane confessing her love... to make Trojan jealous. Yet Trojan knew it was not for Alexander. She had confessed her love for him. His cheeks turned bright red just thinking about that. It was real now. She really did love him.
