I walked into school with the hopes of Jo being the first person I see and talk to and kiss. Unfortunately, life is not a movie like I said to Jo.The first person I saw was Kody and her eyes looked puffy like she had been crying.
I suddenly got worried and went to her.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked. I wasn't going to ask if she was okay because she clearly wasn't and I don't know why people ask that question when they can see that the person is not okay.
"Nothing. Why?"
"Kody, I'm not always an idiot I know something's wrong so what is it?"
"Can we talk later, I don't really feel like getting into it at the moment."
"Why does it seem like none of my friends tell me anything anymore? First Shameik, then Kaiwa and now you."
"I'll tell you later, not now. I have to get to class."
"Sure whatever."
What are they all hiding from me?
"Psst" I heard a voice say so I turned around and it was Jo, I should've seen that coming but too much is on my mind right now.
"Hi" I said, kind of dryly.
"Hey" She said softly. Then she said, "Who was that?" In a suspicious tone.
"Oh, that's just Kody."
"Who is she to you?"
"She's my best friends girlfriend. Are you getting jealous?"
"I don't know, slightly." She said shyly.
That made me smile really big.
"Yea, well don't be. I have to get to class, see you later." I said softly rubbing her cheek with my knuckles.
She kissed me on the lips then said, "See ya."
When she's with me, she's adorable and tender but when she's with her posse and the rest of the world, she's malicious which is a nicer way of saying bitchy and she's also fiercely intimidating but in a sexy way. At least to me it's sexy.
Great now Kaiwa is walking over, to ruin the good moment I just had by reminding me that she's also hiding something from me.
I don't know if she's showing because she's actually showing or if it's because I know she's pregnant that it looks like she's showing.
"Hey babe," She said kissing me on the lips.
"Babe? since when?"
"Uhh hey, Kaiwa look I have a sort of girlfriend now so we can't keep doing this. Whatever this is."
"Sort of girlfriend? I though I was your sort of girlfriend." She said with some attitude.
"No, we were just friends with benefits, we can't be anymore."
"So who is this 'sort of girlfriend'?"
"It's Jo." I said with a foolish smile.
"Jo? Who the fuck is Jo?
"Oh right, I'm the only one who calls her that. It's Jossie."
"Jossie? School bitch Jossie? World wide bitch Jossie?"
"Yep, that's the one." I didn't defend her because, I don't know if she would want people to know about the other part of her. Even though people should see that part of her.
"Ew Jonah, you can do so much better. You deserve so much better."
"Yea, I suppose. 'if only they knew' Anyway, I've been meaning to tell you, that I know why you didn't want to tell me who the father is when I asked you."
"Oh no, you do?" She said with a worried tone.
"Yea I know I'm the father, that's why you didn't want to tell me because you were afraid that I wouldn't want anything to do with you or the baby but like I said before I'm here for you."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow your roll, where did you get that from? You're not the father."
"What? I'm not?" I said very surprised and a little relived.
"No, dummy you're not."
"Well, I just thought I was the last person you had sex with in the last month."
"Oh gosh no and Jonah that was three months ago, If I were three months pregnant, I think I'd be slightly showing."
"I really thought I was the father, I even built up acceptance that I'm a father. So if I'm not the father then who is?"
She suddenly got nervous and said, "Oh man, we've been standing in the hallway for like half of first period, I've got to get to class."
"But who's the father?"
"Later Jonah."
"WHAT THE FUCK!" I yelled and punched a locker then I walked outside. I couldn't be in class after that.
I just needed to calm down, so I took out a cigarette, lit it up and took a really long pull, I let the bitter disgusting contents settle in my mouth then I exhaled.
That calmed me, a lot more that I expected it to.
