Chapter 10
When i enter the room, i feel myself shaking. I was just minutes away from becoming Eric's wife. "Come on love, we dont want to keep waiting." Eric says, leading me to the table where we were signing. After the lawyer or priest, or whatever he was finished talking, he asked us to sign our names. As always, Eric signs his name happily, and fancy. "Now, Miss, you may sign now." I look at the papers. I didnt want to. I didnt want to be with Eric for the rest of my life. But i did it to save Ross's life. I grab the pen.
I stare at the papers for a while, not wanting to sign anything. "Love, what are you waiting for?" Eric asks. I turn to him and manage to smile. "Nothing." I say. I turn back at the papers and sign. I take a deep breathe and put the pen down. "Well, everything seems to be in order. You may kiss the bride , if you wish." Eric turns to me and smiles. His devilish smile. "Of course i want to kiss my lovely bride." He grabs my waist and kisses me. I kissed back. And for a moment, i wished i was kissing Ross. I push him away, ending the kiss. We turn to face the guests he invited. They congradulated us. "Congrads Valerie!" Sammie says. Sammie. She turned into my bestfriend after i left with Eric. But she had no idea i was doing this for Ross. "Thanks Sam." I say, trying to smile. But in the inside, i was dying. "Why so sad?" She asks. I felt tears coming. I felt my eyes get watery. "Oh." I say wiping the tears away. "Its happiness. Pure happiness." I say. She then hugs me.
