Marilyn was quiet as she took samples of Steve's blood, for the serum, she kept telling herself. With Erskine now dead, they had no other source of the serum, and what was left was within Steve. Steve glanced up at her as she was robotically taking his blood, she had had at least 6 vials of blood already. He raised an eyebrow.

"Think you got enough?" Steve mumbled to her, she stood still and looked back at the vials. She blushed at her mistake and pulled the needle from his arm, mumbling an apology. She sighed prepped the vials, putting corks in the tops to seal them. Marilyn looked over to where Howard was, working on the submarine that the man who shot Erskine had arrived in.

"What do we got here?" Colonel Phillips asked Howard as Marilyn walked over, she hadn't really spoke since she cleaned her hands of Erskine's blood, she had felt sick just watching hit go down the drain and she had hadn't stop thinking about it through-out the night. Howard furrowed his eyebrows, seemingly more confused than ever.

"Speaking modestly. I'm the best mechanical engineer in this country. But, I don't know what it's inside this thing or how it works, we're not even close to this technology." He admits.

"Then who is?" The Senator asked him

The conversation continued, different discussions taking place and Peggy taking control, tension dissipating between the leaders in the room; Colonel Phillips and the Senator. Steve seemed to be lively when the SSR was brought up in the conversation; the SSR being re-tasked.

"Sir, if you're going after Schmidt, I want in." Steve spoke up, his shoulders squared. Marilyn was about to speak up, not wanting him to go off into war so soon, but Colonel Phillips spoke first, raising an eyebrow at Steve.

"You're an experiment, you're going to Alamogordo." He said to Steve. Steve shook his head.

"But the serum worked..." Steve tried to explain but was cut off by Colonel Phillips.

"I asked for an army, and all I got was you.. You are not enough." Phillips said, then turned and left. Marilyn frowned at those words. Steve looked as if everything he went through was just for nothing, and he was going to sent home again. But no, he really had something else to do. The Senator approached Steve and they had a one on one conversation, then they shook hands.

"I don't know if I can do this." Steve said as he was dressed in his Captain America outfit.

"Nothing to it, sell off a few bonds, bonds buy bullets, bullets kills Nazi's. Bing bang boom. You're an American hero."

"It's just not how I pictured getting there." Steve sighed.

"The Senator's got a lot of pull up on the hill. You play ball with us, you'll be leading your own platoon in no time. Take the shield."
