Chapter 20

I have fallen asleep just around an hour ago,and awake to the sound of silence. Well what I thought was going to be silent,I hear the door opening it sounds as if they are trying to keep quiet. I keep my eyes closed,the room is too dark to see anyways. Someone steps in front of me,but I don't look up I keep looking at the stone,hard floor. Then a candle is lit and a soft,voices says,"Ali I'm here to get you out." I look up slowly and see a man my age that has brown hair he looks familiar but I don't know his name. He smiles,"it's Mason",he says. I let out a sigh of relief,as I remember him,he was the guy with the broken leg that I saved from the fire. The guy that Gale helped me get out. He goes behind me and unties me,he then hands me the armor I had and my weapons. "Thank you,"I tell him. "No problem,but we should hurry and go,I believe some army men know I'm here,/he says. I put my armor on over my clothes and ready my weapons,"who all is here?" I ask." Just me,Dylan is at base taking care of it in tell you get there,"Mason says seriously.

Mason opens the cell door,and we run out as men start to run after us. I am fast but Mason has already healed,Mason is far in front of me still running. He looks back and slows down,when I catch up we start again. I am still to slow so Mason picks me up like a baby,and sprints. We are about to go through the gate when Mason falls,I get up and pull him behind a road block that we us for cover. "Did you get shot?" I ask. No,it's just my broken leg hasn't healed all the way yet,he says. I smile as I have forgotten about his hurt leg,"what's so funny?" He asks confused. "How are we going to get out of here?" Just as I say that people start to shoot at us,but can't because the road block. He sighs and says,"are you strong enough to carry me as I shoot at them?" I look at him with doubt and say,"will that even work? "Yeah,cause they'll have to stay in cover so they don't get shot.

I have Mason on my shoulder,and he has two pistols. "Okay",I say and start to run. Mason starts to shoot,and yells,"I got one!" He just popped up" where I was shooting,"he says as he shoots more. I don't hear anymore shooting from Mason and say his name. "Uhhh...I drop the guns",he says. Then he yells as he squirms around, "run faster! I am,then the gate starts to close. I laugh just to cover up my worry,"what?" He asks. "Well funny story..their closing the gate,"I say. He doesn't say anything, "uhhh..how is that funny?!" We arrive at the gate just as there is a crack left. I quickly push Mason through the crack,just as it closes. I hear him yell my name,I yell back saying," run and get help!"

Lucky there is another roadblock right in front of the gate,I hide behind it just as I hear a tank come out of the building behind me. "Come out or we'll shoot a missile at you," A female says. I try to make a solution up and then think of a plan. Right as they shoot I can run out of the cover ,then they will have shot the gate open,and I could run out. "I guess you'll just have to shoot me,"I say. Then I hear it has shot,I run out of cover and roll to another roadblock. I get up but am blown down from the explosion of the missile. My ears are ringing,but I can hear voices. I get up and start to run through the gate,I am unsteady and feel my head is bleeding.

Just as I am about to fall I see more men,but Mason is standing in front of them. It's our men,they shoot at the men coming after me and Mason picks me up and runs me to a truck that he puts me in. When he lays me down something wet and rough rubs against my cheek,I open my eyes and see Max laying by me and whining. I smile and pet him,he jumps up and crawls on me,where he lays on my stomach.

I wake up with Max laying by me on a bed,Dylan walks through the door right as I awake. He smiles and walks to me,I smile so I don't cry. "No,no its okay I'm here,"he says as he puts his hands against my cheek. He sits by my bed and we stay there in each others arms just crying. I thought "you were dead,"he says as he crys. "I thought I would never see you again,"I say. By the end of the night he is in my bed hugging me with Max in between us. We both have fallen asleep,but are woken up by Mason.

We are in the main hall,sitting around the big table are men we trust to most. There is a stage at the main hall,and Mason is standing on it with two medals. I am sitting around the table by Dylan,I look at him confused. Then he calls Dylan's name,Dylan walks up there and gets on one knee. Mason bends down and puts a medal around his neck. Dylan stands up and everyone claps,Mason then says,"for bravery and for have chosen to help us instead of the Army." We clap more as Dylan walks down the steps to his chair,when he sits Mason calls my name. Surprised I stand up and walk up on the stage,before I even get on my knee everyone yells and claps. I blush slightly as I get on my knee and bend my head down,Mason puts a real platinum medal around my neck. Dylan only got sliver,why do I get real platinum? I ask my self. I stand up before everyone claps Mason speaks. "Alexandria Noel is your whole name correct?" Yes,I say. "I must say you're last name is beautiful" ,he says. I nod as he continues. "Will you lead us to bringing us back to humanity?" He asks. My eyes widen but I nod and say,"I will try my best to bring humanity back." Everyone stands up and yells as they clap,when they settle down Mason says,"What should be our first move?"
