Chapter 36

EMMAS POV
We walked up to the reception area and Duncan said, "Hi. Duncan Roarar. I would like to see Brad Carore now, in the interview room." He showed an ID as well, which I have no idea where he got from. He's probably faked it up. "Okay. Take a seat, Mr Roarar." The officer said. Duncan sat next to me and Jacob and we waited. We only waited for a couple minutes until he came across the reception. Duncan stood up and said, "Brad Carore?" Brad and the officer who was handling him, looked at Duncan. "Mr Roarar?" The officer asked. "That's me. I'm his lawyer. 349275112 to let him go. Now." Duncan said, like a professional lawyer. "Okay. We'll have to get you to sign a couple papers first." The officer said. "Right. Okay." Duncan replied and followed the officer to sign the papers. They took Brad with them and I whispered to Jacob, "It actually worked." Jacob smiled. "I didn't think it would, but you got your brother back." Jacob whispered back. I smiled and gave him a kiss. We waited for a couple minutes until we saw Duncan and Brad walking out of this room. I ran up to Brad and hugged him. "I've missed you." I said. "I've missed you too." Brad answered. "But you killed Brooklyn." I told him. "Look, I swear on my life I never meant to. I didn't have a choice. It was me...or her. I'm sorry...." Brad explained. I sighed, trying to stay strong for Brooklyn. "Never EVER kill anybody else EVER again. Understand me?" I asked. "I promise. I will NEVER." Brad promised. "Good. Let's go home. I'm tired." I said, as I walked out.
We got home and I asked, "I'm going to bed. Anybody else coming?" "Yeah. I'll follow you up." Jacob said, following me up. I went into my bedroom and entered the bathroom. My makeup was everywhere and my hair was a complete mess. I took my brush and brushed my hair through. I grabbed the makeup wipes and wiped all my makeup off. "Emma?" Someone said on the otherside of the door. I could tell it was Jacob. "Yes, Jacob?" I asked. "Oh nothing. Just checking you were in here." Jacob replied. "Oh okay." I said. I went out of the bathroom and Jacob was already in bed. "Why do you do everything so quicker than me?!" I exclaimed. "Don't know. Slow poke." Jacob teased. "Hey!" I giggled. I got changed and hopped into bed next to Jacob. "Night baby." Jacob said. "Night." I replied, and I closed my eyes. It was the end of a long day. It felt like the end of a really long journey. But all journeys need to end. I got my brother back and I was really happy about that. I just hope my future holds more positive things for me in life.
