Dear Emily,
Remember Hayley? Of course you do. She was our best mutual friend.
She called me today. She said she was sorry she hadn't called yet; she was trying to give me space. I said it was okay. I also said that school was okay and that my new house was okay and that I was okay. I think she believed me. She said she missed you. She also said she missed me. I got off the phone as quickly as I could. I felt sort of bad about it.
But not bad enough to care.
- Delilah.
