Dear Emily,
I've been thinking about last Thanksgiving. Do you remember? Well, no, I guess you don't. But if you were here, you would. It was my favorite Thanksgiving. I spent the night at your house, because both of my parents had the flu and didn't want me to catch it.
You guys went to your grandparent's for dinner and I tagged alone. Your brother flew in from Denver. I wonder how he's doing now. He wasn't at your funeral. No one mentioned him. Maybe he couldn't accept the fact you were gone.
Anyway, I wish I knew last Thanksgiving what I had to be thankful for. But I didn't. And now the one thing that I did have is gone.
- Delilah.
