Dear Emily,
It would have been nice if Stephen told me his family was rich. (Yeah, I had to go. I tried faking my death, but my mom told me to get off the floor and stop pretending I stabbed myself with a fork.) Anyway, his uncle and aunt live in a really fancy house. They had like three tables set up and there were people everywhere. My anxiety levels were out of the roof.
I don't even think I left my mom's side until we found Stephen in the crowd. His family was really nice. I met his parents, and his dad was pretty quiet, but nice. His mom is really polite and funny. I ended up playing with his little cousins most of the time, because it was upstairs and away from everyone else. I only ate a bite of macaroni and cheese.
I think I'm down another pound.
- Delilah.
