I click on the new notification in the top right corner.

You and Luke have matched!

Oh my god. This guy swiped right? Yeah right. A guy looking like this doesn't click the like button for a girl looking like me.  

I was completely starstruck. This boy was so god damn attractive, it physically pains me. 

I gotta message him, what is the worst that could possibly happen? If he doesn't respond It will simply mean nothing, I won't take it personally. 

I have to keep reminding myself that I am on Tinder. Nothing good ever comes out of this app, only one night stands and 1 AM booty calls. But this boy was so good-looking, that I am utterly dumbfounded that he would even swipe right on my profile.

Oh no, what if it was an accidental swipe?! I really need to cut this out, I have to message him already.

Riley: Heyy :)

Good job Rile's, you did it. If by some miracle this boy responds, I will be ecstatic. 

I begin to swipe through other profiles, praying for more potential matches. I come across several decent faces with a match here and there, but something keeps pushing me towards Luke's profile. His initial profile picture is breathtaking.

It's a selfie of him in the car, at an angle just below his chin. [picture above] He had just the right amount of scruff to my liking, and a black lip ring. I'm not usually one who gravitates towards piercings, but his added a bit more of an edge, which surprisingly drew me in.

His bio happens to read; "age 19, Australian visiting America for the summer, down to meet new people." Hopefully I'm one of those people. 

Hah, what am I saying, I have never met anyone off of this app before.

I check my phone again, still no message. 

I am constantly checking my profile every 5 minutes just praying for a response. I cannot believe I am this desperate for a "Tinder boy" to message me.

I try to occupy myself with a little bit of Netflix, hoping that my mind will ease towards something else. As I'm half way through my next episode of Orange is the New Black, my phone vibrates. I read the screen to see the words,

Tinder: Luke sent you a new message.

Praise God, I can already hear the choir singing in the background. I'm thrilled that this boy finally took the time to send me a simple reply.
