POV: Riley
Luke drops his key card right as he's about to open the door. He's so cute.
I couldn't help but wonder if he was getting flustered, as if he was nervous. Luke didn't seem like the type to get nervous over a girl, especially over me. Just by looking at him one could guess that he knew how to carry himself confidently. I mean, he has to be aware of how extremely hot he is. His perfectly blonde hair makes him desirable, whereas his lengthly legs make him even more adorable.
"Ah, got it." Luke finally manages to unlock his hotel door, leading us both inside.
I look around to see an open guitar case next to a few suitcases lying on the ground. Other than that, I was surprised to see his room so clean.
"Well here we are, my home away from home." Luke gives me a quaint smile from across the room.
It takes me a second to process my current state. I was impressed by myself for doing something this brave. I doubted myself constantly that I wouldn't be able to put myself out there and meet this boy. But hey, look where I am now.
Take that, you loser. I wish I could say I wasn't talking to myself.
"It's very nice, just like you." What the hell am I saying, do I even know how to sweet talk? "You clean up nicely." He really did though, he looked hot as hell.
"Thank you," he manages to inch closer to me. I felt awkward just standing near the bed, I didn't know what to do with myself.
"I like your style in jeans," Luke lets out the cutest laugh. We were obviously twinning. His accent made every word that came out of his mouth so much more interesting, and more attractive of course.
"Yours too." I push the hair blocking my eye behind my ear.
"Come," he extends his hand towards mine. "Wanna sit on the bed with me?" He looks up at me with those doe eyes. How could I resist his request?
"Sure!"
I gotta play this cool, I need to act as if this isn't the first time I've done something like this.
I walk over to the right side of the bed and make my way on top. Luke sits on the side next to me and scootches closer towards the middle. The smell of his rich cologne makes it's way to my nose, I try to inhale as much as possible.
"I'm so happy I got to meet you. Truly, the second we starting talking I was interested." Just hearing him say this makes me ecstatic. It gave me reassurance that I wasn't feeling something that wasn't completely mutual.
"I feel the same. You were probably one of the only decent conversations I've had on Tinder."
"How so?" The way that his eyebrow lifted and face scrunched together while he asked a question was so freaking cute.
"Well I mean, for most guys their first and only intention is to hook up. That's usually the first message they'll send me. I hate how they abuse the app just to get laid, ya know? It's pretty desperate if you ask me."
"Ohh..yeah, I guess it is." Luke turned away for a brief second. It looked as if he was offended or bothered according to his facial expression. Did I say something wrong? Great, I'm ruining this already. Just what I feared. Maybe I'm just reading too much into this.
I quickly try to refrain from the subject.
"So, you told me that you write? I think that's amazing. It's something I always wished I could do." I can feel myself becoming frantic on the inside.
"Yeah I do, It's something I really enjoy doing."
"What kind of pieces do you write when you're not writing song lyrics?"
"I've always had something for poetry, I guess that's what I'm best at. I like to write short stories when I have time, but I've been told that's a waste." Something made me believe that Luke was truly passionate about it.
"A waste? Did your father tell you that?" I feel like if I were here lying on a bed with any other Tinder match than Luke, they already would have attempted to pass a move on me.
"The one and only. Writing is just a pass time in his eyes. He rather I do something useful with my time. In his case, that's going to school for engineering."
"Wow, I'm sorry. It must be hard having your passion just be ignored and under appreciated." I feel like no one has ever praised his talent before. I would love to read some of his work one day, if I ever get the chance.
Luke inches closer to me that our knees touch one another. He intertwines our hands; our proximity was so close that I could feel my body heating up.
June 8 / 3:47 AM
More than three hours had passed and it felt like such a short span of time.
I adored every second that I talked to this boy. Luke and I sat on the bed discussing our lives practically the entire time we were together. He opened up to me about his past struggles with his father, as I did mine. He talked so sweetly, telling me about childhood stories and funny tales about him and his friends. Some pretty hilarious moments of Michael were brought up in discussion, I'm sure it will be none the less interesting when I meet him.
The noise of the t.v. hummed in the background as Luke and I laid down next to one another. Only the light from the television lit up our faces. Luke began to stroke my hair behind my ear.
"Do you know how beautiful you are?" Anything this boy said to me made me feel content and at ease. In just these few short hours, I was easily swooning for him.
I could feel the tension rising between our bodies. His hand gently clenches around my neck, pulling me only centimeters away from his mouth. He slowly brings his lips upon mine.
The sensation of his taste resonates throughout me.
