I had slept for 3 hours.
I glanced at my phone and my Instagram notifications were blowing up.
I had gained two thousand followers after the interview.
I had so many comments like, "she's so amazing, she should be a detective!" and, "she has no talent wth," and "she reminds me of my great uncle Steve."
You name it, it was in my comments.
I also got a call from... Peter?
1-800-Peter
"Peter?"
"Hey Lindsay!"
"Hey, what's up."
"I just wanted to say that what you did yesterday, was amazing."
"Oh. Thank you."
"You and Hudson seem like you make a great team."
"Yeah."
"It's a shame he wasn't more protective of you in the basement. There could've been a killer down there."
"Well he didn't need to be protective, I can handle anything I'm given. Hudson's there for helping me and I'm there for helping him. Like you said, we're a team."
"I see. You're pretty tough for a girl."
"You mean to say girls aren't tough?"
"Well no-"
"-that's quite sexist. I may be 5'2 and a half and female but I'm not afraid to take on killers in dark basements and especially not dumb ass guys like you."
"Now sweetie I didn't mean to offend you, it was a compliment."
"You're quite the flirt. Such a turn off."
I hung up.
That was so weird. Why would Peter call me all of a sudden? Was it the exposure? I hope this whole Reece thing wasn't affecting my life.
The next day I was able to control myself and I didn't feel as bad about Reece.
In all my classes teachers didn't give off an angry vibe towards me anymore. They were friendly.
At lunch, a bunch of girls tried sitting at our table, which was actually really annoying because I didn't know who half those people were.
So many random students were talking to me in the halls, it was crazy. I almost felt kinda cool. When I say that I mean, cooler than Ella. It's like the attention that was once on her was now on me.
Yeah she had a Ferrari but I had a reputation for saving Reece from a killer. And people were much more fascinated with my story of how it all happen, than Ella's grand tour of her car.
I knew I shouldn't be so happy, but I couldn't help it. I was getting so much attention that I've never gotten in my past. It was amazing. That is until Ella realized, that nobody actually cared about her. Drama in our room was literal barf.
"Lindsay you've been getting a lot of attention from everyone, and you've been acting... Well, really vein lately."
"Vein?"
