When we got back to the palace, nobody but Maxon and I knew. He always touched my stomach and kissed it, whispering that it'll have the best parents in the world and things like that. I loved it.
I knew soon or later that we would have to have an appointment, but I wanted to keep my pregnancy a secret. Of course I would tell Marlee and my family right away, but not the whole country.
I wasn't showing, for I was only a week or two along. That's another reason I would have to go to the doctor, to see how far along I was and to figure out what the gender is.
When we finally walked through the big arched doorway of the palace, maids immediately grabbed our bags and scurried up the stairs. My stomach started growling and Maxon heard.
"Are you hungry, my dear?" He said.
"Yeah very. Oh and I'm craving ham. Do you think Gus can make me some while we're down there?" I pleaded like a small child. Ever since I found out, my cravings were starting to kick in. I at veggie pizza nearly every night, while Maxon ate take-out food. I also craved pickles, ham, sausage, and strawberry tarts all the time.
"Of course, darling. Only the best for you," he stopped," and the mini Maxon or America in there." He said using his baby voice, rubbing my stomach.
Just as he was doing so, I heard my mothers voice echoing down the hall, talking to May I think.
"....and don't forget to address them properly. They are the queen and king you know." I guess it wasn't May. Maybe she had a friend over.
As they rounded the corner, I slapped Maxon away from my stomach, and he winced.
My mom, I mouthed. He nodded in agreement. As soon as I saw May I ran up to her and hugged her.
"Ames, I missed you so, so much! Where did you go? What did you do? Did you have fu-"I cut her off.
"Maybe we can talk about this later? In a different room. Later. Not now. Later, okay?" I suggested, just wanting to go get some food. When I noticed her friend, I realized I should say something.
"Hi, I'm America!" I said. She fell into a curtsy.
"It's an honor, Your Majesty." Maxon chuckled behind me.
"Please just call me America. But I should be leaving now, I'm starving and need to get food into me," I giggled, earning giggles from every body else too. I totally left my mom out I didn't even say hi!
"Mom! I'm so sorry I didn't even say hi!
Hi!" I said awkwardly.
"Somethings off about you I know it." She said suspiciously.
"What? Nothing is off about me I swear! Why would you even think that? I would tell you if something was
wrong!" I started getting really defensive until I felt Maxon's hand wrap around my shoulder.
"Mer, calm down, it's okay." He said.
"W-w-we sh-should probably g-get something t-to eat." I said, trying to calm myself.
"I agree." He approved. With a tip of his head, he excused us. As we rounded the corner, he scooped me up in his arms, and mumbled something about the hospital wing. That's all I remember before I fell asleep.

"Mer. Mer please wake up the doctor, will see us now." Maxon said shaking me. I didn't know what happened. I just fell asleep.
"Why are we at the hospital wing? Why did I fall asleep?" I said groggily.
"I don't know, darling. I don't know." He started standing up still carrying me.
"Maxon, I can still walk by myself, you know that right?" I asked.
"Yes I do know but I don't want to risk anything." He said whole heartedly.
"Whatever." I sighed.

Thanks for even making it this far. I know the chapters are short but I promise they'll get better. And I want feedback!
