Chapter 22, Darkness Inside

Natsu's Pov, 

I heard Yukino screaming Lucy's name. My mind went to dark places as the air was so foggy. I couldn't see anything or anyone else. I sniffed the air smelling Lucy's strawberry and vanilla scent. I followed it to see Yukino shaking a passed out Lucy. "I-It's the fog" Yukino looked at me worried as I rushed to Lucy's side. I put my hand on her forehead as heard her heart was still beating. Thank god. "That demon must be behind this" Sting muttered as I turned my head to look at him. I was a little shocked he was with Yukino and Lucy.

They must of went after him. "Sting, Yukino get the others, we need to get Lucy off this mountain" I ordered as they nodded, Yukino grabbed Sting's arm as he smelled the air and ran off. I picked up Lucy bridal style closing my eyes. I then had images of the town flash into the mind. I had to find the horses. I then remembered where we left them. I started running toward the camp we made. I smelt the air and started to growl. The demon was heading this way. Damn it. I kept running, holding Lucy close to me. I wasn't going to lose her.

"N-Natsu..." she whispered while passed out making me look at her a little shocked. C-could she sense me while being knocked out? I got to the horses as I heard laughing behind me. "Storm, you gotta watch Lucy for me" I whispered to my horse placing Lucy on the ground carefully, her back on what was left of the building we was camping inside. I turned around to see the demon smirking at me. "My, my looks like my spell on your Princess worked a little too well" the demon laughed as I felt the rage inside me of grow.

He was going to pay for hurting MY Lucy!

Meanwhile In Lucy's Mind, Lucy's Pov, 

I was floating around in darkness. I was looking around trying to find someone.... Trying to find Natsu. I felt cold, pain and sick. "Princess Heartfilla" a voice echoed as I looked around. I kept looking around as I saw the darkness turn into a night sky. "Let the darkness take over, let it give you the power to take the demon down" the voice then echoed around as I knew I couldn't let darkness win. It was what we was fighting to get rid of. I kept quiet trying to find who ever was talking. "Poor weak Princess Heartfilla, your acting just like your mother" the voice sounded upset now.

"M-my mother?" I asked in a whispered confused. T-the voice knew her? The voice just laughed as an image showed up. A young man stood there. He was wearing a high-collared black and tan robes with gold trim, along with a large, flowing white toga draped around his torso. He had short black hair, dark eyes, and abnormally sharp canines. He also was wearing a circle-shaped necklace. "Your mother was a very powerful wizard Princess" the man had a small sad smile. "I see why Natsu likes you" he then whispered.

"W-who are you?" I asked, nearly shouting. I was scared. I had to put on a brave face, I had to fight him and get back to the others. "I am the dark wizard Zeref" he answered as my eyes widen. The dark wizard. The most evil and hated wizard known. He was known for being a master in the dark arts and creating demons to disrupt the peace in our world. "W-why would you offer me power to destroy one of your demons?" I asked confused as he stepped closer to me. I tried stepping back but I couldn't, was he controlling my own mind?

"I want you to join the darkness, I don't want to harm you Princess, I want you to join me. If you do your friends won't die trying to keep you safe" Zeref then lifted his hand making a bubble show. Inside the bubble was Natsu fighting the demon from earlier and Natsu was losing. He was out of breath and standing in front of my passed out body. "Natsu" I whispered scared as wings and horns started growing on him. E.N.D was taking over.  I felt myself start to shake as I then looked at Zeref. "You can end their fight" he then offered me his other hand.

"Join us" he then whispered as I then stared back into the bubble. I wasn't sure what to do.... I was scared...... I was very scared...... Natsu..... What should I do? I then felt my magic. "Don't listen to him, you idiot girl" I heard Aquarius's voice snap as I then started to hear my other Celestail Spirits. They was begging me not to listen to the dark wizard.... Telling me not to give into the darkness. "I don't need your darkness" I then snapped standing tall. Zeref sighed, shaking his head as his hands started glowing black. W-was he about to attack?

"OPEN, GATE OF THE LION! LEO" I shouted as Leo showed up in front of me smirking. I-I could use my magic. I was still confused on where we was. "Here Lucy your magic can never run out" Loke then explained his hands glowing gold as Zeref looked upset. "Be careful still Loke" I begged as Loke nodded, smiling at me before running at the dark wizard. They was both fast, missing each others punches, kicks and magic. I watched thinking...  

If Zeref was here....

I really had darkness inside me....

Somewhere deep inside me.....
