I stood on the roof at midnight, my trademark black cloak on with my hood pulled up. My red eyes gleamed at night, waiting as another figure appeared. I stood, a sneer on my lips.

"Ashton," I sneered, my accent thickening in annoyance.

"Alexei," he grinned, stepping forward into the night. "So I was right, it was you all along." I barked out a laugh, my eyes narrowing. "I thought I saw a glance of you that night, but by the time I got to the balcony, all I found was a girl, Artemis. For a second, I thought X might have been her, but she was terrified of me. You weren't like that, and she cared not about what you did. Ha! I might have broken her if Fallon hadn't showed up." My eyes furrowed in confusion, stepped into the light where Ashton could see me.

"So Fallon is playing Prince Charming?" I rolled my eyes, a bit confused by why Ashton would bring Fallon up.

"Jealous, are you? You do realize that you have a weakness. One that only I would know." My eyes narrowed, my red eyes gleaming brighter and brighter. "The one thing you've always considered a weakness." I made a face, raising my first dagger, bronze. Ashton cackled, snapping his fingers, a figure tied up and mouth duct taped sitting awake and conscious. "Love is your fatal weakness." My figure froze my gaze turning to the taped figure, Fallon. I mentally slapped myself, in knowledge my brows furrowed.

"Let him go. He has no part in our argument." I glared, anger surging through me.

"Jealousy doesn't suit you, Alexei. Especially when Fallon has gotten himself engaged to his childhood love, Anastasia. It is so peculiar that your names are like the Romanov family." Ashton stepped forward into the light, anger evident in his eyes. "You deserve to pay for the death of my family, especially for my sister. She was innocent!" I snorted, rolling my eyes at his obliviousness.

"That's what she said." I snickered, pulling out my golden blade. "Fight me then, Ashton. You win; I guess you can kill Fallon. I win, Fallon is free and you're getting thrown in the dungeons of your own palace. It will be a shame that the West will fall in chaos. After all, you did poison your parents earlier tonight." Ashton rolled his eyes, disappearing in thin air and teleported directly to the middle of the school grounds. Fallon sat on the side, his eyes widen in fright and confusion. I leaped from the building, making my way across from Ashton.

"Deal." The boy I once knew pulled out two daggers of his own, and sliced the air, running towards me and sliced at me. I jumped backwards, doing a flip before snapping my fingers and vanished into thin air. Ashton called out to the courtyard, his voice only audible for Fallon and I to hear. "Powers too? Best of luck Alexei, you won't know what hit you." My eyes narrowed, in knowledge that he could teleport and fly, a dangerous combination. I appeared again, slashing at his back. His cloak was now ripped, his gaze toward mine before slashing at my dominant hand.

"I'm ambidextrous," I rolled my eyes, tossing my knife to my left hand, slashing at his knee. Ashton groaned in remembrance, slashing at my back. I disappeared and slashed at his other knee, appearing. We continued slashing at each other, the courtyard soon covered in our blood. There was a shriek, both of us turning our heads to see a crowd of students watching us. Ashton was still studying them, giving me just enough time to knock one of his blades out of his hand, tossing it by Fallon. I slashed at his right arm, forcing him to fight me with his non-dominant hand. Ashton's gaze returned to me, the two of us slashing each other at wicked speed. Ashton disappeared, re-appearing behind me, stabbing my right hand, forcing me to drop my bronze blade. I hissed in pain, a grin evident on his face.

"If you play dirty, so will I." Ashton slashed at my stomach, leaving a trail of blood. My hood still covered my face, hidden by my trademark black mask. Blood dripped to the floor of the ground, making the once clean yard it dirty and metallic smelling. I twisted my hand, knocking Ashton's blade out of his hand in triumph. He only had two daggers while I had three. Ashton's face went into a sneer, pulling a gun out of his pocket.

"Don't..." I groaned as he pointed the tip of the gun towards Fallon. Ashton gave me a knowing look before firing at the Eastern prince. I leaped forward, jumped in the way of the bullet. Almost in slow motion, the golden bullet hit my chest, immediately stopping my breath of air. My vision began to fade, as I lay bloody on the ground.

"Game over, looser." Ashton walked over, discarding his gun by a toss over his shoulder. I felt his foot over my chest before stepping down, making a crunching noise, cutting my vision off sharp.

Ouch. That's got to hurt. Ah, the wonders of cliff hangers. All you got to do is to wait.
