The feeling of pain had always felt like a tickle to me, but this was far worse. I had blacked out directly after Ashton stepped on my chest, snapping and breaking my ribs. I could feel blood seeping through my wounds, and felt around my chest. Every single one of my bones was intact, and the bullet did not strike my heart. I tugged out my silver lock, revealing a golden bullet that was lodged in it. Curious, the bullet did not strike my heart, but my lock.
I sat up, Ashton was still cackling evilly, which really sounded like Barbie screaming. I then realized that Fallon was still tied up, behind me. Fallon's right hand was free, which was twitching a golden hue, meaning that he... healed me.
"Thanks, Fallon," I coughed, in knowledge that he knew my little secret. He scratched the back of his head nervously.
"It's the least I can do for you." I nodded, standing up, the crowd of students gasped and pointed at me. Fallon had the knife Anastasia gave him, meaning that he would be free in minutes. I could see the flash of silver from the corner of my eye. I tucked the box-like lock back into my shirt, pulling out the silver dagger that Octavius had. Ashton was facing me, his eyes narrowed in surprise that I was alive.
"Well then, so you aren't that easy to kill." He smiled wickedly, leaping into the air, and came down at me with a punch. I leaped out of the way, doing a back flip. "After all, this, to kill me? What are you up to now?"
"Stopping you, Ashton. Why kill Fallon and the other princes for their thrones? Why slaughter the royal families like you killed your own parents?" A few gasps were heard in the crowd, Ashton's eyes darkened a bit annoyed.
"Ha. As if I would believe a commoner like you to understand." Ashton scoffed, leaping up into the air again. "I killed my parents and poisoned their wine so that I would quickly get my throne. Fallon's death would be quick and easy. He is defenseless. I doubt he knows how to use Anastasia's Lexington silver dagger. Ninja isn't alive to tell him the secret."
"Ninja was a great man! A mentor, a father!" I defended, my face stoning.
"A father you never had. Not even a father, you met him at the mental asylum." Ashton shot back, grinning at my response. "Someone that not your foster mother hired to kill you, but me."
"You," My eyes sharpened, I jumped, stabbing at his thigh, cutting it.
"Me," Ashton smiled wickedly, waving it off as if it was nothing. "It was Rasputin's idea anyway, to kill you. You were too much of a threat, and he was right! You killed my mentor." I rolled my eyes, tossing the silver blade into the air and caught it, snapping my fingers and rippled the air around me. Ashton scoffed, laughing. "As if your little air tricks could do anything. As if you even had a second power."
"It depends if you want to live after experiencing at." I snarled, the air tensing around me at my anger. "Lilith wanted to kill you, to take the throne for herself. She was not trained to rule. She was greedy, power hungry, and in the same league as your aunt. Did you truly deserve to die? I thought not. Later after I win, I will get Anastasia to bring Lilith to speak to you the truth."
Ashton barked back a laugh, amused at me. "Lilith was so much better than that. She was not power hungry, she was kind, and was someone I could care for. Now you ended her innocent life short. My red eyes glowed as I held the knife in the air, making it disappear and threw it at him, hitting his leg and made him fall on his face. Ashton groaned, lying on the floor in pain. I stepped over, shaking my head at him.
"This time game over, Ashton. It's time that you realize that you can't always win. Good night." With that, I bent down, pressing my finger to his neck, causing his eyes to roll to the back of his head, unconscious.
"Is Prince Ashton dead?" My eyes blazed, staring at the boy that bravely raised his hand.
"No, he isn't, Barry. He's just unconscious. I expect you all to realize how much danger you were in. Go find Paul and Gwen. Paul and I have a little conference and some things to take care of." The crowd quickly dissipated, the people of the academy slowly disappeared into the building to find the two.
Fallon stood behind me, the silver dagger in his hand. "So this was Ana's, but you used it to kill?" I sighed, turning around and fingered the blade.
"A bit, yes. Although all the blood I spilled had a reason. I did not kill for enjoyment, unlike what most would think. I killed to save you, Marco, Luis, and even Ashton. I killed to save the royal family." I sighed, staring down at the unconscious body of Ashton.
"How do I not know you? Ashton called you Alexei, and you knew Ana's secret as well."
"Oh trust me, Fallon. You know me; I am close to you, under a different name. Consult Anne later, will you? Bring her to where Ashton will be held. He is under the crimes of murder as well I. Now that I am free from Ashton's clutches, it is about time I reveal my true identity. You best be going, Fallon. It is a late day. You don't want to be asleep when you look for Anastasia, hmm?" He nodded, taking off in a jog, leaving the scene as is.
I stood there in silence and waited until Paul and Gwen approached, explaining to them about the situation.
