Gifted and Talented Boarding School
I stepped into the boarding school slowly, and cautiously. I had recently left my latest boarding school, a bit pleased to finally leave. I was finally at a new school, where I could actually learn. I stepped into the campus, the large size making me feel homey. Today, I was going to meet up with Queen Madeline and her son, Fallon. It would be my first official day here tomorrow, hopefully, a school I can stay in. I stood by the small pond with fishes and waited. I pulled out a small locket with two pictures in it, my mother and father. My mother died giving birth to me but left me various items for me to keep. Along with those items were a silver dagger, a blue-silver mask, a notebook, a sketchbook, and a silver chained necklace that I refused to wear. I felt a warm hand on my shoulder, startling me.
"You've grown." I turned my gaze to a beautiful woman. "Last time I saw you, you were a tiny little adorable girl," I smiled, in knowledge that this was Queen Madeline of the East. My mother, Annabelle, had named my first middle name after the queen, and second after her mother, Valentina.
"Your highness," I curtsied, a small smile making way onto my face. "It is an honor to be in your presence." Queen Madeline chuckled to herself, before beckoning someone in the shadows forward.
"Fallon, this is Anastasia, the daughter of my best friend Annabelle Lexington." The boy walked forward towards me, only to trip on a rock and fall right into my arms. I managed to hold my balance and let go of him quickly. My smile grew wider, a bit amused by the boy's clumsiness. His cheeks were flushed with embarrassment, as he regained his balance. He had bright amber eyes and a mass of messy jet-black hair.
"Uh, sorry about that..." Fallon smiled weakly, holding out his hand. I took it, shaking it firmly.
"It's alright. I'm quite use to people tripping and falling into me y'know?" He let out a light laugh, a small smile making its way onto his face.
"Shall I show you around then?" I gave him a quick nod, as he took my hand and dragged me towards the main building. He let go of my hand, taking a step forwards and disappeared on the spot. I furrowed my eyes in confusion, taking a step forwards myself, and disappeared as well.

"Why can't you stay at the school?" Fallon questioned, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck nervously.
"My foster mother arranged for me to stay somewhere else, besides coming here for an education. I-I don't think it'll be good for you to know where I'd live. I can't live at school for my safety, really."
"Oh," Fallon managed to say, before his gaze shot up to the sky. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" I nodded, the two of us parting ways and disappeared.

Well... at least you know how Artemis and Fallon met. (sort of). Next chapter, X's POV will have a little bit about his past. *sigh* It's what tragedy does to us all. Our past is our past, but it is a part of us.
