I look at the only council member that has been silent the whole time. He looks me in the eyes and smiles. "Very well then, everyone is excused." The woman in orange states.

"You both will not die. Not as long as I am around." I whisper to both of them. "I won't let you both down."

"You never will let us down. No matter what you do, we are proud." Hades softly says. Hazel opens her mouth but shuts it immediately. She simply smiles at me. In her eyes, I can hear the words she almost said. Her eyes tell me to be strong and don't back down. The two guards in grey take them away. I can never seem to catch a break. The room becomes silent.

"I will not allow them to be killed," I say, breaking the silence.

"They committed treason." The man in silver says. "Treason is punishable by death."

"Sir Davis has a point. It is the law, and there is nothing we can do." The woman in orange claims. I know there is a way to get out of death. They are hiding the truth from me.

"There is another way," I say. All three of them momentarily look at each other.

"There is no other way." The woman in silver coldly says.

"Yes, there is." I push. "They have no ill feelings towards the firm." I point out. I sort of lie since Hazel does have ill feelings towards the firm.

"Either way, there is no other way." The lady in orange says as if she is talking to a child. I can see the pity in their eyes. I can feel my blood beginning to boil.

"Do not speak to me as if I am a child. I am capable of making adult decisions. Do not pity me, because I am a poor orphan." I strongly say. "I do not want pity. I want justice for my friends." I watch them closely. They have somber looks except for the man in orange. He smiles slightly as if amused.

"We do not mean to offend you, but they committed a crime. They must pay for it." The woman in orange says.

"No, I will not accept death as the correct punishment." I disagree. I walk closer to them. "They are connected to a mythical creature. That must mean something." Sir Davis laughs at me.

"It means absolutely nothing. Treason is treason." He points out. I glance at the man in orange, and he continues to stare at me with a slight smile. With my eyes, I beg him to help me. I can tell I'm losing this battle. He slightly nods at me and smiles.

"Allow me to join this conversation." His deep voice says. Everyone looked at his direction, and no one dared to speak. He leans back in his seat and laughs. "I don't know why you guys are faking your faithfulness to the law." He looks at Sir Davis. "For treason is treason, am I correct?" He sits straight up and taps his fingers on the desk. Sir Davis suddenly becomes nervous. I can see sweat beads form on his forehead as the man in orange stares at him.

"Yes..." Sir Davis quietly answers.

"Parker, why now do you choose to speak?" The woman in orange asks. He looks at the woman and grins.

"You know why, Paloma." He gravely says. His expression seems happy, but his voice is deadly serious. Paloma sits down in her chair. Parker looks at me. "Poor girl is just trying to save what's left of her loved ones." He gets up and makes his way towards me.
