The crystal spoke to Gray, and though he tried to ignore it, the voice in his head never stopped and never faltered, not even once. If you surrender to me, I will tell you how to save your friend. All I want is for you to swear by all you hold dear that you will return to me when your quest is done, said the voice, invading his thoughts every waking moment, and turning his dreams into restless darkness all throughout the night. Never, thought Gray, I will never surrender to you. Pity, came the voice, it seems your poor friend Erza will never wake up again. What a shame, such a pretty little young thing, so full of life and love. To have that life taken...and to think, you, the one she trusted most of all, could have saved her, but you refused to sacrifice yourself even after she so willingly sacrificed herself for you...
That did it for Gray. It didn't matter what happened to him anymore. The only thing that he was afraid of was losing Erza. At least now he would know she was safe. He agreed to return, but only after ensuring that Erza would be OK. Very well, Gray Fullbuster, it seems you do care for your friend. The demon you seek is Kozalexaiya, or, in your language, Dark Shadow. You will find him when the sun meets the horizon, and the moonlight touches the ground. He will be where the four seasons meet, and the four elements all unite as one. But heed my warning, there will be obstacles in your path. His brothers and sisters will rally to defend him. Sacrifices may need to be made. But whatever happens, do not lose hope, for that will be your downfall.
The words made no sense. What? I don't understand, thought Gray, but the voice was gone. Gray turned to his friends.
"Hey guys, I know this is gonna sound crazy, but you know that crystal we passed? Well, I've sorta been talking to it this whole time. It said the demon we're looking for is called Kozalexaiya, which is apparently demonic for Dark Shadow. A fitting name. Anyway, it said that the demon will be where the four seasons meet, and the four elements unite as one, and that it will be when the sun meets the horizon, and the moonlight touches the ground. I don't understand or trust this crystal, but at this point it's the only lead we've got," said Gray. He didn't burden them with the deal he made, or the 'obstacles' that they would have to face on the way. They would deal with that when the time came. Right now, their priority was saving Erza.
"Haha, Popsicle's talkin to crystals now? This is PRICELESS!!!!" laughed Natsu.
"Shut up, Natsu," snapped Lucy. "It's not like you've got a plan."
With that, the four fairies settled down for the night, and tried to figure out where the heck the demon was.
