Valentine's Day had passed, and the drama was all but forgotten. Gray and Erza were going on a double date with Natsu and Lucy. They were going to dinner at a nice restaurant that had just opened in Magnolia. They were all very excited.

Gray and Natsu bought matching tuxedoes, and then went to pick up the girls. Lucy and Erza took a little longer to prepare. They spent hours shopping for the perfect dresses, and then hours more on accessories and makeup. Then the hair. Lucy insisted that they get their hair done by professionals. After all, it was their first date, she argued. Erza reluctantly agreed, and when they were finally finished with their appearances, they waited for the boys.

Natsu and Gray were speechless when they opened the door. Lucy was wearing a pink, sleeveless, v-neck gown that exposed her cleavage, leaving little to the imagination. She had matching gloves, and her hair was done up. God, Natsu thought. She looks so beautiful... Man, she really knows how to take my breath away. Popsicle stick better not be eyeing her. Natsu needn't have worried. Gray wouldn't be looking away from Erza anytime soon. Erza was wearing a strapless purple gown with a white pattern across her right breast. She had white gloves on, and her hair was down and curled. Gray didn't think he would be able to handle how strikingly angelic she looked. Erza noticed him staring, and she cleared her throat.

"Gray, my eyes are up here," she calmly chastised him, chuckling.

Gray blushed furiously and couldn't find the words to explain himself. He simply looked away.

"Natsu, you too," Lucy laughed.

"Wh-what?" he stuttered. "N-no, I wasn't, I mean, I was, but, i-it's not like that..." he sighed in defeat.

The girls tried desperately to retain their composure before giving up and dissolving into giggles. Gray smirked.

"Erza Scarlet, are you giggling?" he asked.

"Shut up, pervert," she playfully smacked his arm.

They got in the car and left. Dinner was wonderful, and the date couldn't have gone better. Everything was perfect, but something still lingered at the back of Gray's mind. Something he knew would eat him up if he didn't pay it it's due. When dinner ended, Natsu took the car, since Lucy lived farther away than Erza, and Gray walked Erza home. They made it halfway before Gray stopped on a bridge and turned to Erza.

"Erza, there's something I need to tell you. Something I've been hiding for a very long time. Something I need to say now, before it's too late."
