After a long day of travel, the wizards reached their destination. They found the place they had seen in their minds, and sure enough, in the center of it all, was the symbol of the demon that had taken Gray's everything. Now they just had to wait for a falling star, and somehow catch it without burning themselves. Simple...
Finally, the wizards developed a plan. Lucy summoned Virgo and asked her to dig a large hole. Gray then froze the hole, filling it with ice. When Gray was finished, Natsu melted the ice with his fire, and the wizards were left with a small pool of water in the ground. Happy's job was to look for falling stars and alert them when one was close. The wizards would then use their magic to push the star into the puddle, causing it to burn out, thus capturing the last piece of the puzzle needed to find Kozalexaiya. Their plan was flawless, it could not fail. But then again...nothing's perfect. Everything has some sort of mistake, some kind of loophole, some imperfection. And no one really plans on failure...but when has that stopped ever stopped the inevitable?
The star came, and Happy called out to his teammates. They were ready, and everything happened just the way they had planned. Except for one thing. When then star fell into the water, it did not burn out. It simply caused the water to evaporate. And the star stayed there, in the now empty hole, burning brighter than ever, and seemingly taunting the wizards, as if daring them to try to contain its brilliance.
