TWO YEARS LATER
Angela's POV
It had been two years since all the drama between me, Josh, and Jason. Not much exciting happened in those two years, we all went back to acting the way we did before, except some awkwardness between Josh and Jason.
Josh didn't show much emotion for me since the day we sat on my porch holding hands. I guessed that he lost interest in me. I had a feeling he would, I just didn't know it would be so soon. Betty eventually found out that Josh liked me. Maybe she teased him and that's why he stopped liking me. I wasn't sure, but I was somewhat sad. Jason also seemed to stop liking me. I was seventeen, and I didn't even know any boys, besides Josh, my brothers, and the Aldeans. I figured I would turn into an old maid.
Josh's POV
Every night I would think about Angela. I still liked her, but I stopped acting like it. Betty found out I liked her and started teasing me about it, even in front of our parents. So I decided it would be easier to stop liking her, but I couldn't. I thought she stopped liking me as well, but I couldn't believe it because it hurt so much to think about.
I decided that today I would talk to her about it. It was going to take some guts, but I couldn't go on without her.
She was now seventeen, and I was almost nineteen. It sounded like a big age difference, but it really wasn't. I decided that if she said she did like me I would take her on a date to ask her out. I remembered when she was fifteen she made a point of having to be asked out. So I was going to.
Angela was going to come over in a few minutes to pick Betty up to go on a walk around our property. They wanted to talk about "girl stuff", so I decided to give them something to talk about. I planned on talking to Angela before they left together.
Angela's POV
As I walked up to Betty's house I saw Josh sitting on a bench on the porch. The same bench that I sat on with him two years ago.
"Hey," He looked up at me, "Come here." He patted the bench, telling me to sit.
"I would, but Betty's waiting." I replied.
"No, well, yeah, but I told her I wanted to talk to you."
"Ok," I walked over to him "Whatcha wanna talk about?"
"You. Um, yeah you." He whispered.
I raised an eyebrow, "Ummm, ok."
"I-I still like you, Angela. I'm sorry I stopped acting like it. I didn't mean to hurt you if I did." He looked at the wooden floors, then up at me.
I looked around, not sure what to say, "I'm glad. I thought you completely forgot about me. In that way at least." I smiled half way.
"So, if you're glad, does that mean you still like me?"
I looked deep into his green eyes. I noticed his short, shaggy brown hair, with a few blond highlights. He smiled at me, as if he knew I was studying him. I watched his lips form that irresistible smile that got me hooked two years ago.
"Yes," I looked at the ground, almost regretting it, but a part of me didn't, "Yeah, I do."
"I'm so happy, you don't have any idea. Betty, she kept teasing me for liking her best friend. I'm sorry. I just couldn't keep doing it. But-but I thought about you every night."
I nodded, but didn't say anything. I didn't have anything to say, except one question.
"Did you really think about me every night?" I looked up at him.
"Yeah, yeah I did." He answered.
"Did-did you um, ever like any other girls? In the last two years?"
He chuckled, "Nope. Not one."
"I didn't like any other boys either." I smiled as I looked into his eyes.
He put his hand on my knee, palm up, just like he did a few years ago. I grabbed it and pulled it up to me. He grabbed my other hand and pulled me to stand up. It's like we were living everything all over, but in reverse.
He pulled me in close, put his hands on my hips and we locked lips. He slowly slid his hands around my waist, and to my back. As if we were hugging. I hugged him back as well. Our lips seemed to meet up perfectly.
This time I pulled back first. The kiss was quick, but it seemed like eternity. I pulled back and started to walk inside, but first he winked at me and said, "Hey, um, would you like to go on a date? And then maybe be my girlfriend?"
I took a moment to think by looking around, blushing and smiling. I knew my answer would be yes, but I wanted him to wait. I didn't want to be that easy to get.
"Hm," I smiled, "Ya know what. Yes, I would love to go on a date." I walked back over to him and hugged him, "And yes, I'd be honored to be your girlfriend."
He smiled, "I'm glad. I never would've thought I would be asking you that, and that you'd say yes. I mean, you hated me when we were little."
I laughed, "You remember?"
He laughed too, "How could I forget flying a pretty girl off a teeter-totter?"
