Angela's POV

I hadn't seen Josh close up since the day I broke up with him. I did see him driving by in his truck all the time though. I heard he apparently bought a farm, and was supposed to move to it soon. I was glad, but still my heart ached. He had parties every Friday night. Girls, beer, strobe lights, everything you'd expect from a country party. I guess he was living up the fact he was a single man.

Jason and I became really good friends during that time. We hung out a lot more, he took me bowling, and he even took me to a football game! We both knew our relationship was getting serious.

JULY 20th

"Hey. Angela!" Jason called to me as I was hopping in my truck.

"Oh, hey, Jason! What's up? I'm bout to go into town, wanna come?" I asked him as he walked up to me.

"Ah, sounds fun. Whatcha gonna do?"

"I was just gonna go clothes shopping."

"Hm, yeah, I guess I'll go if you don't mind."

"Heck no, buddy."

I seemed to keep calling him Buddy, even though it seemed like what guys would call each other. He didn't seem to mind.

We were driving down the back roads of Georgia, listening to the local country music station.

Jason reached up to my stereo and turned it down,

"Angela, may I ask you something?"

"Of course!" I smiled.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

Thankfully we were at a stop light, so I was able to stop and look him in the eyes.

"Jason, I would love to."

He leaned over and quickly kissed me.

"I'm so happy. I love you, Angela."

I smiled over at him and kissed his cheek.

The driver next to us was some old hippy guy driving a mini van. He rolled down his window and yelled at us, "Go get a room!" Jason and I laughed ad waved at him.

We quickly arrived at the mall in the town over. Unexpectedly he hopped out and ran to my door and opened it. He took my hand as he helped me down from my jacked up truck.

Yes, my truck was jacked up. And no, I didn't pay the fortune to do it. I bought it used, and already jacked up. Even though I wasn't the toughest girl around, I still liked my trucks with lift kits.

As I slammed the drivers door shut I pulled my hand away from his. We started walking into the mall and he opened the big glass door for me.

"Why thank you, Jason. Aren't you the gentleman?" I winked at him.

"I try, Angela. I do try." He smiled the cutest little slanted grin.

Once we were inside he gently touched my hand and I happily held his hand.

"What store do you wanna go in first?" He asked me.

"Um," I looked around to see what was nearest, "Let's go to Forever 21. They have nice stuff."

"Forever 21 it is!" He pulled me over to the store, "Hey, first thing you find that you want I'll buy you!"

"Oh Jason, you're so sweet but you don't have to."

"I don't have to do nothing."

I walked around the store with him close by me. I found a beautiful black top with some sequins on it.

"Hey, Buddy. Whatcha think of this?"

"Eh, I don't think so. It looks a little baggy."

"Oh you bad boy. You like it tight?"

He blushed, "Hey. I'm a guy ya know."

I slid the shirt back on the rack and immediately saw a gorgeous white lacy top. I quickly looked at the price tag, $33. I felt a little bad about the price, but I wanted it so bad.

Jason's POV

"How bout this?" Angela asked me as she swung a white blouse off a stand.

"Oh my gosh." I couldn't believe it. She put it in front of her, showing what it would look like on her. She would look amazing. 'Good enough to take to a church picnic' as my grandpa would say.

"You don't like it?" She softly fingered the lace.

"No, babe I love it."

"Ok. Then this is what I'd like. But remember, you don't have to pay."

"No it's ok." I said, without thinking how much money I had.

We walked up to the counter and there was a young guy working. I made sure to keep Angela close, I wasn't going to lose her to any player.

She set the shirt up on the counter and the cashier scanned it.

"Thirty-four dollars and three cents." He told us, without making eye contact.

I pulled out my wallet and saw I only had twenty dollars. I didn't even have a credit card yet. What was I going to do? Angela must've seen me searching my wallet and realized I didn't have enough money. She frantically searched around to try to find something cheaper. Thankfully there was a bowl of bracelets. $4 each. She ran her fingers through it looking for a bracelet she liked. She grabbed a thin black one with a heart as the dangly piece.

"You know what Jason? I think I'd rather this bracelet. I've been looking for one and this seems perfect."

I looked up, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am. Besides, that shirt was very baggy. Not tight." She winked at me.

That caused the cashier to start giving her "those" flirty looks.

"Here ya go Mister." She handed him the bracelet, "I'd rather this than that shirt. It's too baggy for my boyfriends liking." She looked over at me and winked again.

When she called me her boyfriend the cashier stopped paying as much attention to us. I handed him the twenty dollar bill, he gave me back my change, and we walked out to continue shopping.

I was so glad to finally call Angela my girlfriend. To be able to flirt with her, kiss her, and hold her hand was such a good feeling.
