Young Jihoon was carefully restringing his guitar when "Jihoonie!" Jin hollered up the stairs. Jihoon jolted at the sound of Jin's call, very nearly dropping his beloved, half-stringed instrument in the process. Luckily, his reflexes were on point, catching a sloppy hold of it before it fell. "Dinner's ready!" A smile smeared across his face as he removed the chair from under his door knob and bolted down the stairs, already taking in the aroma of kimchi fried rice and other Korean delicacies. As he entered the dining area, Jin was spooning out soup from the pan. Jihoon could feel his mouth watering uncontrollably.

Yoongi was by the table, setting it up for three people to eat. He scowled at his brother, dying from second hand embarrassment. Yoongi could already predict how his food was going to go down. He would probably choke on some of the soup after vacuuming up the contents of his bowl, maybe even burning his tongue along with it. One of these days, Yoongi promised himself he'd learn the Heimlich maneuver. Maybe Jihoon wouldn't die such a stupid death after choking on sweet corn or something.

"Wah..." Jihoon looked in awe of the cuisine being laid out on the table. "It almost looks too beautiful to eat."

"Child," Jin looked playfully offended as he strolled to the dinner table. "Food is meant to be eaten." He set the soup on the table and untied the back of his apron to let it slip off, sitting in the chair opposite Jihoon. Yoongi sat next to his best friend, didn't hesitate to go full throttle on the soup that had just graced the dining room table. "Hey!" Jin slapped Yoongi on the back of his hand.

"What now?!" Yoongi raised his voice at his closest friend. Jin widened his eyes at the younger, his eyebrows rising.

"NOW WE SAY GRACE!" Jin screamed back at him, making Yoongi regret his previous question. "JOIN YOUR FUCKING HANDS!" Yoongi intertwined his fingers together and said grace at Jin's demand. Jihoon started chortling quietly. It was funny how the two nineteen year olds acted when they were together. Jin had Yoongi so whipped for him, it was as if they were mother and son. "Now we eat." He picked up his chopsticks and started devouring the rice in his bowl.

"Geez, such effort before meal time." Yoongi grumbled as he popped a piece of meat into his mouth and chewed lightly. "He swore, did you hear him Hoonie?" He pointed a polite hand to the rarely potty mouthed Jin.

"Yeah, loud and clear." It was unusual for Jin to swear, this may have only been the fifth or sixth time he'd ever heard Jin say the F word in a sentence. He must've been stressed out about something.

"You can't eat a meal without first thanking the one responsible for it."

"Ok, thank you for the meal Jin." Yoongi shot at him, shoving soup passed his lips.

"Not me!" Jin scoffed. "God! Jeez, you're such an idiot sometimes, you know that?"

"I know that very well." Jin shook his head at the boy, and heartily ate another chopstick full of rice.

Jihoon had gone quiet, his main priority falling on the meal laid out in front of him. He was scarfing down every piece of food there was on the bowls and plates set up on the table, barely chewing on it before he swallowed.

"Slow down Hoonie!" Jin told him, but the child kept taking in mouthful after mouthful and eventually, he'd made himself choke, just as Yoongi predicted. I fucking called it! Yoongi thought to himself as he watched his brother coughing on the boiling hot soup uncontrollably. "See?! Now look what you've done!" He got a napkin, as well as a glass of water and handed it to the air deprived Jihoon. "Geez! The pair of you are pieces of flipping work!" He slapped Jihoon's back, in an attempt to get the food to go down.

"Well," Yoongi started, his eyes planted on his bowl of reddened kimchi fried rice. "our parents worked for us alright." He started sniggering, but it wasn't long before Jin put a stop to that.

Gross! Jihoon thought. I don't wanna know what mom and dad did in bed! He felt nauseous, and just as he'd finished choking on his food.

"Shut up! Oh my Lord!" Now it was Yoongi's turn to get a well-deserved smack, the dirty jokes irritating Jin a lot more than he initially expected it to...

As Jihoon and Yoongi cleared the table at Jin's order, Jin was busy by the dishes. His mind whirling thoughts like a hurricane sweeping the streets of America. And of course, his thoughts consisted of his secret boyfriend, still wondering if he could even call him that in their difficult situation. "Jin hyung?" A mint blond Jihoon made him jump, after being so focused on the captain of the basketball team for such an extended period of time.

"Hmm?" Jin answered, shifting his attention to his short, young friend.

"I have more plates for you to wash and..." the young musician paused. "...you've been washing that clean chopstick for like... ten minutes." Jin looked at the plates, realising how distracted he'd been. He gasped, hurriedly dropped the chopstick and took the plates off his dumbfounded looking friend.

"Ahh!" He laughed a little. "Ahaha! I just got carried away is all Hoonie, if you find any more cutlery to wash then leave 'em there and I'll wash 'em in a bit." Jihoon nodded slowly, confusion in his eyes as he went toward his older brother for clarification. A blank faced Yoongi, who was leaning forward on the counter, made eye contact with Jihoon, taking sight of Jihoon's 'what's up with him?' expression (Furrowed eyebrows and slightly agape lips, as well as a thumb pointing in Jin).

"Boy problems." Yoongi said simply.

"Ah." Jihoon nodded, showing his understanding of the matter. "Is it..?" He paused again, referring to a name he couldn't say out loud.

"Yeah." Yoongi replied faintly, sighing into the word.

"Again?!" Jihoon almost screeched in frustration.

"Yeah..." Yoongi started fiddling with his fingers.

"But how could..?!" Jihoon was entirely amazed of how the eldest person in his friendship group, the most mature and grown up at that, would go for a male as irresponsible as Kim Namjoon. He was undignified, rude, selfish! Why on earth would Jin of all people, be stupid enough to go for someone so out of his reach? Even though it seemed like he was close enough to touch?

"Cuz he's fallen that deep Hoonie." Yoongi replied to Jihoon's inner thoughts. It was as if Yoongi could read his mind like a book. A really boring book that asked loads of pointless questions with obvious answers.

There was a long silence between Yoongi and Jihoon, a silence of knowing how bad someone was for you, and still being stupid enough to love them without question.

"What are you two doing?" Yoongi and Jihoon jolted at the sound of Jin, wiping at his hands with a clean paper towel.

"Geez Hyung!" Jihoon whined. "You shouldn't sneak up on people!"

"Maybe I wouldn't need to if I could trust you both to clean when I'm not paying attention." Jin snapped. "Now, would you two stop contemplating the meaning of life and help me clean already?" Jin shoved a wet cloth in Jihoon's hands and shooed him into the dining area. The cogs in his mind turned as he pondered the two brothers. so much so that they'd halted their usual bickering and gone quiet with strong single-mindedness...
