When Yoongi opened his eyes, he was met with light, the smell of anaesthetic and the continuous sound of beeping. The ringing noise hadn't ceased, but that was nothing new. "Jesus..." he brought a hand to his forehead and felt a sharp pull on the back of his right hand. He furrowed his eyebrows as his eyes drifted to his pale, piano fingers. There was a needle jabbed in the middle of his hand, and attached to that was a thin tube that led to a bag full of clear liquid. From there, a heart monitor was located next to him, much to his distaste because he was in the hospital again.

"You really shouldn't say his name in vain." An unusually low voice called as he flinched with surprise. He wasn't alone in the room.

"Jimin for fuck's sake!" Yoongi sighed with relief to know it was only the angel he had been sharing a bed with quite often since he had invited him over from the riverbank. "You need to learn not to sneak up on people like that."

"I didn't sneak up on you!" Jimin claimed, appalled the older male had even suspected him of being sneaky. "I've been sitting here since we arrived at the hospital." He got up to sit on the end of Yoongi's bed, making himself comfortable on the covers Yoongi had been warming up for the last 2 hours he had spent within his head. "How you feeling?" he asked nonchalantly.

"Like my head imploded."

"I don't know how you would know the feeling of one's head imploding." Jimin pointed out sarcastically. "If you'd ever felt that, you probably wouldn't be breathing right now." He giggled as he leaned back on his palms and fixed his eyes on the ceiling.

"Yeah, yeah," Yoongi chuckled. "Whatever smartass." He struggled to sit up, but Jimin lent his hand to help the older boy heave his upper body to a sitting position. "Where is everybody?" Yoongi asked, observing the quiet atmosphere around him. His mother hadn't made her presence known, if Jihoon and Jungkook were there then he would've probably heard the racket of competitive play. Jin was nowhere to be seen either, and that was worrying because Jin wouldn't leave him in this state alone.

Well, he supposed he wasn't completely alone. Jimin was there when he woke up after all.

"Jihoon and Jungkook went to look for something to snack on," Jimin swung his legs on the edge of the bed.

"Again?" the grey headed songwriter asked, almost amazed by the appetite of the growing boys. He adjusted himself on the bed so that his legs were crossed and his back was resting on the pillow.

"They got peckish on the way here and got permission from your mom." Jimin explained. "Jin hyung's with the doctor I think, said he wanted to know a little about life here as a doctor."

"Ah," Yoongi understood now, of course Jin had run off to talk to one of the doctors. "if I know Jin, he's probably asking for my sake if not his own."

"What do you mean?" Jimin was confused, the doctor had already briefed them on Yoongi's condition – as simply as he could to medically uneducated folk such as they. Jimin had barely understood with all the medical terms he was foreign to, but he got the general gist. "Why would he need to know more?"

"Jin wants to be a doctor one day." Yoongi smiled, as irritable as he was around his own doctors he appreciated what they did for him even though he knew there might be nothing they could do one day. Jin had always been fascinated by the medical part of science, he studied life and death like it was a new discovery. He would watch the American TV show 'scrubs' and be appalled by the behaviour of some doctors because 'medical professionals, must always be professional' or so Jin claims.

"Really?" Jimin was intrigued. He pictured Jin might become something in the field of culinary arts, but medical science was something all the more foreign to Jimin than it was to an alien who'd never even heard of planet Earth. "He's actually interested in that stuff?"
