Without knowing 5 weeks already had passed since Riley showed up in our school in his college uniform. Weeks since that kissed yet the tingles whenever it cross my mind is still as lucid as it was the day it happened. The concept of dating and courtship in here is very different from where I grew up. I mean when the girl says yes to a date it's practically like they're already exclusively dating as boyfriend and girlfriend but here it wasn't the case. We've already been to a lot of dates but we aren't still in a relationship. "What are you thinking?"

I am currently on Sy's car on our way to school. It's always been like this since the New Year starts and I kinda miss my own bike. Ang lagi ko nalang kasing nagagamit yung spare bike na nakapark kina Edward since I am present almost everyday sa gangster pit. It has been a rough month for the association. Maraming ambush ang nangyayayri that's why I need to double or triple my guard for me, my brother and my friends. "Nothing. Just some petty things."

"Spare me with your lies." He scoffed. This is one of those times where he can easily see whether it's the truth or the other. "What is it?"

"Er.. I heard from the guys that the pit is unstable right now."

I heard him sigh. They told me about them being gangsters but what they didn't know is I'm there every night watching. "Yeah, the association is having a meeting right now. Those killings it's not just some gang war. It's like they've been  slaughtered by some professional killers." He paused. "Assassins." He added in gritted teeth which make me shiver. The weight of disdain in his voice for the likes of me is dangerously grave.

What if's flooded in my mind. What if he'll find out? What will become of me? Of us? "You should be careful then." I was able to say despite the growing lump on my throat.

His expression instantly shifted from scary to being pleased. "So you care about me?" He asked smugly.

"Whatever Sy." I said while rolling my eyes at him trying to hide my flush face. Late ko ng narealized that I've called him by his last name which he didn't like when I saw the knots on his forehead. The rest of the ride to school was in utter silence after that. I sighed deep when he remained quiet as he parks the car. My lips landed on his cheek and before he could react I was already out of his car.

"Adams!" I basically run like zombies were chasing me. I can't face him not when I felt like my face is having a high fever. The difference of kissing someone you like and someone you don't really care about is awe-inspiring. Like I've kissed men during missions but it never gave me feels like this one.

I took a sharp turn when I did not hear his footsteps anymore and lean on the wall. "That was close." I mumbled to myself.

"What's close?"

"Shit!" I jerked my head the speed of a rocket at my right side where I heard his voice. "What the hell Riley?" But his face remained passive. "What are you doing here anyways the college building is on the other side."

"Are you free on Thursday?" Despite the fact that he ignored what I said I still opted to answer after seconds of pondering.
