Chapter 2

"Allyson, I'm home," a husky voice erupted from the living room.

Camila's heartbeat seemed to stop at the moment she heard the voice. Her body seemed to immediately froze and the room fell silent. Ally's fork fell from her hand as she swallowed nervously. She looked at Camila and the other latina was completely zoned out.

Sam on the other hand, was utterly confuse on what is happening. One minute, the house was filled with two different voices and it was clear that there was joy in the house. Then next, they heard a voice and the room was now dead silent.

Sam looked at the girl beside her. It got him worrying when he saw Camila's face. The girl's hands were shaking. He don't know what to do because the fact that he doesn't know the reason on why she reacted like that was making it hard for him.

The deafening silence that surrounds them has gotten into Sam. He was about to break it but the sound of Ally standing up from her chair beat him to it. Sam shot Ally a confuse look but the older girl just shrugged which made him more confuse.

Ally hurriedly walked to the living room and there she saw.

The green eyed brunnete who's in the process of taking off her shoes. She noticed Ally walking towards her and gave her a tired smile.

"Hey, Laur," the Texan girl greeted despite the nerve wracking situation, "I thought you'd be back next week?"

"That was the plan IF," Lauren paused, "if we lose the game, which is impossible.." She said nonchalantly.

"Uhm..Lo," Ally started nervously, fidgeting with her fingers as she simultaneously glance at the kitchen where Camila and Sam are situated, "I-i don't know how to say this but..."

Lauren raised her head and shot Ally a confused look. She removed her jacket and place it on the couch. She was exhausted from her flight. She planned this as a surprise hoping that Ally would be happy to see her considering that she was one month away from her. But Ally seemed nervous and that wasn't the reaction that Lauren wanted from her.

Lauren and Ally had been living in one roof since Lauren became a professional baseball player. Lauren asked for the other girl's forgiveness and Ally didn't saw any problem in giving it to her. Lauren thinks that she owed Ally for that, so she asked if they could live together since the apartment that their team's manager gave her was too big for a one person.

"What is it Ally?" She asked.

Ally bit her lip, her heartbeat is picking up. She couldn't lie to Lauren. She would find out soon. She didn't think that this whole dinner thing would turn out like this.

She looked at Lauren who just opted her to speak. With a deep breath, she opened her mouth to speak. "I-...ca-...uh..." Ally mentally slapped herself for being so nervous.

But can you blame her?

Camila and Lauren had a nasty break up and she knows that the green eyed girl despise her ex-girlfriend. She said that explicitly. She was there everytime she blames Camila for the pain she's experiencing. She was there when Lauren shed her tears for the other brunnete. She was there when Lauren tried to kill herself.

So she decided that she wouldn't mention Camila to her and she did the same to Camila. But all her efforts of keeping them away from pain was now put in vain.

She was brought out of her trance when she heard a deep voice behind her.

"Hey, uhm, Ally," Sam called.

Lauren noticed the boy behind Ally, she looked at the smaller girl and raised an eyebrow. She didn't know that Ally has a boyfriend. It wasn't the typical Ally who likes to keep a secret, but maybe their relationship is a bit complicated. The girl haven't mentioned anything about the boy.
