(Lauren)
"What? Like, right now?" Lauren asked her coach who was on the other line.
"Yes, Lauren," he simply answered, "We still don't know the schedule of the finals so we better get ready and practice."
"But I'm ready. We are all ready actually," she argued.
"The decision is final. I know I told you that I won't call you when you're all in break, but I think Chicago will get the last ticket to finals. They're pretty good in playing and I don't want you to underestimate them just because they were on the last spot when the cup started, so this is the best thing to do."
"Can't we like, postpone it? Maybe let's continue it tomorrow? Next week?"
"No. I already called your teammates that lives here in Miami. The only day that they're free is today."
"What about me?" She huffed, she badly wanted to take a rest because her body was physically exhausted. And her mind also, "I'm not free today."
"Majority wins. I know that you have great skills in baseball but we also need teamwork. Don't be a lazy ass and we'll meet in the field at 2."
"What?! 2 in the afternoon?! Are you trying to-"
"-stop being so dramatic. Goodbye, Lauren," he said before he ended the call.
Lauren sighed dramatically. Her mind was spinning. She rested her elbows on her study table and put her hands on the either side of her head, gripping her hair gently.
Two days had passed since she last saw Camila. And boy, the girl drove her crazy. Lauren couldn't help but reminisce what happened two days ago. The way Camila entertwined their fingers. How it fit perfectly like it was moulded by destiny. How Camila instantly relaxed when Lauren wrapped her arms around her waist like she belonged to them. Camila was confusing. Lauren is confuse. And frustrated.
Camila has a boyfriend but she acts like she doesn't have one. And it's making Lauren mad. It was like, Camila was playing with her feelings. Two days of restless nights and that's what's exhausting Lauren's mind and body. She spent her time thinking about Camila. When she couldn't sleep, she would open her laptop and check her email.
Her feelings for Camila was driving her crazy. She still love the girl. It's irritating that she couldn't do anything about it.
"Ugh," she groaned and shut her eyes.
A knock on her door interrupted her. She opened her eyes and looked over her shoulders. She saw Ally smiling at her.
"Hey, Laur," the other girl greeted softly.
"I'm going out later," Lauren informed her friend, "Practice."
"Practice? The finals is like one month away, right?" Ally questioned, walking towards Lauren.
"Yeah. Coach was paranoid about Chicago. He called me today to tell me that there's a practice later at 2," Lauren explained, standing up from her seat to close her laptop.
"Well, you don't look so good," Ally said worriedly.
"I'm fine. Just a little tired," Lauren sighed and sat at the side of her bed as she watch Ally took her previous seat.
"I can tell," Ally laughed gently, "Are you sure that you're good to go?"
"As if I have a choice," the brunnete rolled her eyes. The thought of running around the field under the sun irritated her.
"Well, you should atleast take a nap and I'll wake you at one," Ally told her.
"Nah," Lauren declined, "I don't think I could get a sleep.."
