Mohamed's POV
As soon as I heard the words, I couldn't think.
"It's your friend. It's Zak"
I glanced over at Sabrina and her face showed a blank expression.
Her father cleared his throat and started speaking. "I think it's best if you leave right now." I looked at him than we walked to the door.
"I'm sorry. It's wasn't meant to be" her mother said to me.
I walked back to my house and slammed the door and headed for my door.
As I was about to open my door to my room, I saw Amina pop up out of no where. "Well, how'd it go?" she asked
I looked at her and replied back with "ask Zak" and once again slammed the my bedroom door.
I was in my room for 5 hours. In those 5 hours, I just though about how my life dramatically changed in just a few months. How Sabrina and I got closer and how things unexpectedly happened. But then I realized how Zak acted."It's your friend. It's Zak". That moment kept playing in my head. I finally got up and went to the kitchen.
I headed for the fridge and saw a figure by the door. It was Zak.
"Look man, I didn't know about this. Trust me, I wanted you to be with Sabrina.." He said
"Uh, cut the crap Zak. I knew you wanted her but not that badly and that you would hurt me to get to her. I should've known that. And saying you liked Laila just so I wouldn't be suspicious. Look at how many people you hurt" I said and walked up to my room.
Sabrina's POV
I walked up to my room, and I was getting ready to open the door, but I heard whispers coming from my room.
"I can't believe you did that, Safiya!" Laila said. Why was she talking to Safiya.
"I don't care if you were protecting her. I told you that I got it taken care of and you went and told her parents that Zak interested in her. You do realize that Sabrina's mom went and talked to his mom and now they're engaged." Laila said
What! Safiya told my mom that Zak and I liked each other. She was the reason why we were getting married.
Without thinking, I opened the door and barged in. I grabbed the phone from Laila and shouted into the phone.
"Do you realize what you have done? What were you thinking!?" I asked Safiya.
"I was protecting you, Sabrina. If this Mohamed kid was any good, he would've gone to your parents to ask for your hand the minute you guys developed feelings for each other. You should be thanking me." Safiya replied
"Mohamed is most caring and amazing person I've ever met. Don't even talk about him when you haven't met him. It's not your business to be deciding my future, and determining who I'm marrying. Actually Safiya, don't even talk to me anymore since you don't care about how I feel." And with that I hung up the phone.
I threw the phone onto the bed and looked over at Laila. I broke down and started crying.
This was not how everything was suppose to turn out.
