The smell of the salty air and the tropical temperature here in Tropea made my decision worth it for tagging along with Laura. We arrived last night and I guess Laura's family is tired that's why they are all snoring downstairs and completely missing out how beautiful the sunrise is. We are staying in a three storey, white mansion that is owned by Franco and Laura's friend. It has a great view of the beach, especially on my room. You can see the glistening water, people swimming and walking, probably getting a dose of fresh air. The mansion also sits right next to the old buildings that are maybe older than me.

I sat on a cool chair and watched the sun rose slowly, waking every people in Tropea. This my heart ache because it reminds me of my beautiful Dan and how her smile lights up my world. I really miss her so much. I wish I can erase all of my wrongdoings inside her pretty mind to make everything okay for us. My head hurts thinking about the possibilities of what is Dan doing right this moment. Is she okay? Does she take cares of herself? Did she already moved on with another man? That thought made me angry but she have all the right to hurt me anyway. I hurt her too many times and made her shatter. I take a sip of coffee as I think where else can I find Dan. She's not in her hometown neither in her old apartment that was occupied by her friend. My head aches again. I'm so stressed out. Maybe Laura is right that I need this vacation to release my mind of some stressful things. I completely gave in to the vacation mode, thinking that having a short time in one of the beautiful cities in the country will calm my chaotic mind.

I change to a khaki short, white t-shirt and wore a pair of slippers. I quietly walked out of the house and went to the beach. When I stepped on the white sands of Tropea, the saltiness of the air is strong and I mindlessly walked on the shore. I can hear child laughing and I looked up and saw a bunch of kids of playing on the sand. They all laugh when one of the castle they build got washed off the shore. They all run when a woman run and chase them all. They seemed a happy family. They all laugh like there's no problem in this world and they are content where they are. I'm jealous when I saw them because I want that with Dan. I want to be happy and contented because of our happy children, her smile and presence. I shook my head when Dan pops in my mind. I need to find her but I also think I need this rest.

I continued walking and I noticed a woman with a white floral dress walking with her hands on her bulging belly. I can't see her face because her long brunette, hair covers the side of her face, where I'm facing her. My heart beats faster as I walk closer to the woman and I don't know why. When I'm at the right distance to approach her, her head whipped to face and . . . I was completely disappointed. She was not Dan and she looked at me like I'm some sort of a pervert or something. I walk off leaving her perplexed and never stopped until my feet protested.

When I'm back to the town proper, the stores have opened and people showed up to start their day. Children ran along the narrow streets, completely ignoring the dangers of the outside. I saw a small bakery and bought a cappuccino and some muffins to eat while I'm walking bach to the house. A guy came and stood behind me, grumbling about early cravings in Italian but when he answered his ringing phone he spoke in english. While I wait for my cappuccino, his phone rang and I'm surprised that he's speaking english. Maybe a girlfriend.

"Yes, I'm already here Ms. Grouchy. Just rest your pregnant ass there and I will take care of it." The guy said and he ordered two muffins, cappuccino and a hot milk. The cashier said something and he answered "I can't wait, too" and he just squealed. A man just squealed, right next to me.

A woman handed our orders and I noticed that one cup had some writings on it. I read it as fast as I could and it says "We miss you, Dan. Visit us when they come out. Can't wait!". I left the bakery completely perplexed and confused. I don't know if it is a coincidence or this day is just shitting me right now.

"Good Morning everyone! Glad you're all up. I bought some muffins." I greeted them and place the bag on the counter while Franco and their children wait for their breakfast and Laura cooking.

"I'm glad you're here already. You didn't left any note on where you've been" Laura said like she's my exasperated mother.

"I'm already a grown-up man, Laura. I can take care of myself"

"I know that but you can just left a note or something so that we know where you are."

"Oh alright. I'm sorry" I told her while she placed pancakes on our plates.

"It's okay. By the way, Franco and I will leave later and you can enjoy doing your uncle duties later." Laura chirped. Ah, yes. They will have a lunch date later at the newly opened restaurant they have been talking about. If I remembered, it is owned by their friend.

"Mom, can we go to the beach with Uncle Ezio? Please?" Milo asked and her sister joins in.

"Okay guys but you have to be behaved if you want to hang out there . . . " and Laura looks at me " . . . your Uncle might get mad at you if you will not."

They both shouted because of joy and thanked their mother. Soon after we are finished eating, Milo and Erica changed their clothes and each of them will bring a small bucket and shovel. The three of us left their parents and I know they will something while we are gone and before they leave. We used the shortest route to get to the beach and chose the uncrowded spot. We sat there and I played with them. When it's time to get home, we bought lunch in a local restaurant and some ice cream in a convenient store. When we arrived, the house is silent, and Milo and Erica took a bath and changed their clothes while I placed their food on the counter. They soon arrived, clean and we all ate while watching a movie about a police rabbit and a fox.

Later this afternoon, Franco and Laura arrived and they looked happy. They brought something for dinner and I already told them that I will go out this evening. Laura eyed me but I just shrug my shoulders.

When I arrived at the beach, I can see some bonfires around and I can hear people laughing. I walked and walked until I can find a secluded spot and sat down. I closed my eyes and listened to the crashing waves. It's mesmerising to listen to them because it mysteriously gives you the feeling of tranquillity and I just want to savour the feeling. When I opened my eyes, the moon greeted me with stars as his companion. I kept staring on them until I felt someone moved far beside me. I looked to my side and see a pregnant woman in a floral dress, seating while drawing some shapes on the sand, when she looked at my direction, a surprised eyes met mine. After a second, tears slid down her cheek as I scrambled to get up and finally reach for her.
