Chapter 12 ~ I Need The Truth

Dean was panicking. Was Seth okay? Was he dying? Would Dean be able to tell Seth how much he meant to him one more time?

The answer to all of those questions was unknown. And that broke Dean's heart.

He was hurt by Seth and has moved on with Roman, but it doesn't mean he doesn't care anymore. He wanted Seth to be happy, even if it wasn't with him. He wanted Seth safe at all costs, as well, and to know he wasn't made Dean's skin crawl with guilt.

He missed Seth dearly. He missed seeing Seth's mixed colored hair and the smell of his cologne when he'd approach. It always comforted him for some odd reason. Just the sight of Seth sent chills down Dean's spine that made him grin with happiness and that let him know he was safe with him.

Dean felt safe with Roman, of course, but it just wasn't the same. It wasn't the same comforting feeling. Seth brought a warm, welcoming feeling with his presence, whereas Roman's was just a friendly kind.

"Dean, I'm sure he's fine," Roman comforted as Dean paced back and forth in their hotel room. "You'll find out soon what is really going on."

"What's really going on is that Seth got hit by a fucking moron who was speeding!" Dean hollered, his hands shaking. "You may not care about him anymore, but I still do."

"He broke your heart!" Roman scoffed, crossing his arms as he stood up from the bed. "He hurt you badly. I could see it in the way you behaved after you saw that note. You collapsed onto the floor and wouldn't get up for an hour."

"So what, Roman? What, are you gonna rub in my face that you helped me? Because if that's the way it's gonna be, you can go find someone else to use," Dean spat, walking towards the Samoan. He was inches away from his nose. "I'm not in the mood for anyone's bullshit, including yours. If you want to act like I can't be upset over my ex, then that's your issue, but open your damn eyes and see that this is reality, not fantasy. In reality, people get upset and it's normal, even over things that we shouldn't. Get your head out of your ass and face reality before I do it for you.""

Roman wanted to hit Dean very badly in that moment, but restrained himself. He knew Dean was hurting because of Seth and even if Roman didn't want him to be, there was nothing he could do about it. All he could do was comfort him.

Of course he wanted Dean to be his. He started to develop feelings for him and wanted only the best for the lunatic, but there was nothing he could do if Dean was still caught up in Seth. He couldn't understand why Dean would want anything to do with the two-toned hair freak who broke his heart. He thought Dean should just give up already and move on, preferably with the big Samoan.

Roman supported Seth and Dean while they were together and wanted only the best. At the time, he felt no extra feelings towards Dean. He thought of the both of them as friends and that was it. But as soon as the two love-birds became having issues, Roman began to slowly fall for the lunatic, since he got to work with him a lot in the ring now.

"Look, I'm only trying to do what I think is best for you," Roman said, sitting back down on the bed. "Holding onto something that isn't there won't hurt Seth at all; it'll hurt you mentally. I've been there in the past, Dean, with some of my exes and it took me a long time to regain my mental stability and strength. I don't want to see you go through the same thing I had to."

"Yeah, well back the fuck off!" Dean screamed, backing away and going to the bathroom, slamming the door. His face was burning red with rage, although he didn't know why he was angry. Dean was only trying to help him and this is how he behaves about it? How disrespectful could he be? He slid down the wall and curled up, sobbing heavily. "What's wrong with me?"
