Chapter 12: Catching up

This chapter is probably going to be short also (probably shorter) but at least I updated :) and it took me for ever...We are having a lot of tests and I need to study quite a bit now :/


Lucy POV

Natsu, Happy and I all walked out of the Guild, I didn't know where we were going but I trusted Natsu had something is mind. Happy seemed to be flying behind him too so I doubt he knows where we are going. We walked for a few minutes not saying anything but it wasn't an awkward silence, it wasn't a comfortable silence either but it was nice. My legs aren't as wobbly as they were a few hours ago but I shouldn't walk to much but I don't want to cause Natsu any more trouble. Natsu then looked behind himself and he stared at me for a brief second and I just smiled at him, he quickly turned away, weird, I shouldn't look into it.
"Hey Lucy" He suddenly said
"hm" I replied softly
He stopped walking and I stopped just beside him and he gave me his famous grin, I looked at him confused but I soon saw Happy flying ahead of us and I soon realised where Natsu has taken us, I saw a beautiful Lake, with trees and wild flowers scattered in various places
"Oh my! it's beautiful" I gasped in amazement

Natsu POV

"Oh my! it's beautiful" Lucy gasped in amazement
I looked at her and her blond hair was moving slightly in the wind and the sun made her face glow. This place isn't as beautiful as you Lucy...
"Eh what was that?" she asked me with curious eyes
Crap! did I just say that out loud, what is wrong with me lately?
"A-Ah nothing, just talking to myself" I stuttered
She looked at me with soft caring eyes and it's like they were drawing me in
"You have matured a bit Natsu"
"Eh? I have?"
"Yes...since back then and just recently" she smiled sadly
She soon sat down on the grass in front of the lake and sighed, I soon sat next to her and it was silent for a minute until she asked a question
"Natsu...what happened after you left? after I couldn't come outside anymore?" she asked seriously but softly
Is she referring to the time when we were kids?
"I stayed for a few days actually...to see if you would back outside-" I paused, I saw her face and it seemed sad but hopeful "I occasionally saw you at the window two floors up...you looked sad but eventually I came across Fairy Tail on my way to your mansion and kept on searching for Igneel and..." I was about to say something else but I felt a choke in my throat, i forgot you...thats what I was going to say but she didn't forget me, not once.
I reached into my right pocket and pulled out that red, heart shaped stone, I got Mira to make it as a necklace, she didn't ask why she just did, I held the stone in my hand, Lucy looked at me waiting for what I was going to say and instantly her eyes darted to my hand.
"I forgot you..." I sighed, putting my head against my knees
It was silent again but not for long, I felt someone wrap their arms around me and I slightly looked up and Lucy was hugging me, she then pulled away and smiled
"It doesn't matter, you gave me the happiest days of my life, even now you are still here for me...although I didn't know it was you until just recently" she smiled with a slight tear in her eye and she laughed softly "it seems obvious now, the pink hair, your outgoing attitude, everything"
I smiled

Lucy POV

"It seems obvious now, the pink hair, your outgoing attitude, everything"
He then smiled but it was different, it wasn't his toothy grin, his genuine smile? no it was something else and I must of been staring for quite a bit because
"They Liiiiiiiiiiike eachother"
I was about to react
"Don't roll your tougne like that!" Natsu yelled
"They Liiiiiiiiike each-" but before Happy could finish his sentence Natsu stood up and started chasing Happy
"Oi" Natsu said whilst chasing the now flying Exceed
I laughed softly, now that's the Natsu I know
"I'm all fired up now" he laughed evilly whilst throwing flaming fists at the cat
Happy then came flying over to me, flying behind my back
"Luuuuucy!" he cried playfully
"That's a dirty trick" Natsu smirked
"Hey calm down you two" I giggled
I looked at Natsu and I think my heart just skipped not one but two beats, Natsu Dragneel is blushing, any redder and it could compete with his hair, no maybe he has a fever
"Uh Natsu, you okay?" I ask
"n-no, uh I-I mean yes" he stuttered

Natsu POV

"That's a dirty trick" I smirked at Happy who hid behind Lucy
"Hey calm down you two" she giggled
My smirk turned into a soft smile, I seriously need help, i'm getting all mushy and stuff inside, what's wrong with me and why is Lucy so cute? Then I saw Happy crawl slightly out from behind Lucy and he grinned at me, his tail then indicaited to me then to Lucy and he turned his tail into a love heart. Is this what they call-
"Uh Natsu, you okay?" Lucy asked
That's when i felt it, My face is red hot, wait am i blushing? Gray said this happenes when-
"n-no, uh I-I mean yes" I stuttered
When did this happen? I don't remember feeling like this but I have gotten soft lately, maybe it happened when, no that makes no sense!
"Natsu if you go any redder it will put your hair to shame" Lucy said staring at me seriously
I quickly turned my face away from her and sat down next to her again. it was quiet for a few short seconds until I pulled the stone out of pocket again
"Here Lucy...came across it when I stumbled apon your apartment when you were still asleep" I said still looking away
"Stumbled, you say" She said with a slight giggle
"I guess it's what you call a habit"
"Thanks Natsu...how did you get it as a necklace?" she asked
I looked at her this time and my face felt cooler now
"I-I asked Mira to do it for me" I said scratching the back of my head
"Thanks Natsu, again from back then and now" she smiled brightly then she said with worry "but I don't have anything for you, I had this by me remembering you but-"
I stopped her from talking and moved her hair out of her face, a natural reflex I guess, she went to a light shade of pink, is she getting a fever? but I continued on what I was going to say
"I'm a Dragon Slayer, we don't forget" I smiled
"I'm not saying goodbye to you this time" she said holding the stone like gem "Could you..." she said softly pointing her eyes at the necklace
"yeah sure" I replied
she moved her hair away from her neck and I put the necklace on, she sighed and smiled
"They Liiiiiiiiike eachother" happy said again
Before I knew it Lucy was rubbing her fists into Happys head and all I could do was laugh and I whispered to my self

"I love you, Lucy Heartfilia"

I have been wanting to write those last words for 12 chapters now 12 CHAPTERS

Now I was thinking in a few chapters this fan fic should be over, after another fight scene and confession and all but I hope you enjoy this short chapter of AFFECTION xx <3
