Chapter 16: Nightmare

(Beginning of the nightmare)
"Mum! Hurry up or we are going to be late." I shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

"Relax Sky, we will be on time." She replied while walking down the stairs. Today it's my grandma's birthday and we decided to surprise her by going midnight at twelve and celebrate her birthday. I felt like something was going to happen bad, like we won't reach on time.

Dad sat on the driver seat while Mum say on the passenger seat and I was at the back middle seat. It was 10pm midnight and hardly anyone was driving on the streets. My dad started the engines but the car didn't start, he tried again but again failed to start the car. I knew something bad was going to happen and it did.

After twenty minutes the car finally started and we headed the road. Today the weather didn't seem like my cup of tea, it was raining heavily outside. After awhile I saw the time on my clock and it was 11:15pm. We are never going to reach on time if dad goes through the motorway.

"We are never going to reach on time for the surprise. Dad take the short cut." I said in frustration.

"No don't dear." Mum said to Dad. "It might be dangerous going through the shortcut."

"No it won't darling." Dad replied.

"Yeah, Dad's right, what could happen by going through the shortcut?" I agreed with Dad. Mum just stayed quiet as Dad turns a left to the shortcut route.

Mum seemed worried throughout the journey for some reason but she wouldn't tell why. It was quiet in the car and the only thing you could hear is the birds, wind and the radio at low volume. One of my favorite songs come on so I asked Dad to put the volume higher, all three of us started singing out loud and dancing in our seats and I wish three of us stay like this forever.

But, in a flash a lorry is right front us coming in high speed. My Dad is trying to turn the car away from the lorry but it's too late. The lorry crushes and everything blacks out, the last thing I remember is someone celebrating our death.

"Mission accomplished."
(End of the nightmare)
"No!" I scream. That nightmare felt so real, as if it actually happened. I heard the door open with a bang.

Grandma POV

I see Skylar sitting on her bed with tears rushing from her eyes. Her hair is all messy, cheeks are flushed red and she is shaking.

"What happened dear?" I asked while rolling my chair towards her.

"M-mum, Dad and I had a car a-accident." She whispered in fear.

She continued. "No no no no, mum and dad were murdered."

I knew soon enough she would get her memory back from the night. This isn't good for her, it could somehow affect her life.

"It's just a nightmare dear, nothing else. Your mum and dad had a car accident." I explained. "Just forget it Skylar and never think about it again or tell anyone. Promise?"

She looked shocked at first but soon recovered to what I said and nodded her head in agreement.

Skylar POV

I can't forget about the ridiculous nightmare. It's messing with my head.

I'm putting my shoes while Alex is waiting in the car for me. I open the door and sit in the car, the car started and that's when I started shaking in fear and was sweating from head to toe.

The driver pressed the brakes making me jump. Why am I getting scared?

"Why did you stop middle of no way?" Alex questioned the driver.

"Sorry sir, a cat came front of the car." Driver replied.

I opened the car to get out but Alex grabbed my arm to stop me.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"I'm going to walk to school." Without letting Alex reply I started walking and saw the car go by.

Sitting in after school is such an honour, while the teacher is snoring. Let's rewind what happened.

(3 hour before)

Bella approached me while I was sitting eating my lunch.

"You do remember that your Alex's slave?" Bella spoke.

"And what?" I'm so fed up with her stupid drama, like come on I have better things to deal with.

She took a jug of water and spilled the jug on top of me, I was shocked. She smirked, "That's your punishment." I could see Alex and his friends are looking at me and enjoying the view.

That's it! I can't take this any more. Everyone is looking at me while Nicole and Natalie's mouths are opened in utter shock. I got up from my seat and took my plate of pasta I was eating and chucked my pasta on Bella and this time I smirked.

And that's when the teacher saw us and decided to give us a after school detention.
