Emptiness

Chapter 1: Left Alone In The Darkness

"Mum, Dad wake up, please wake up!" I screamed. Looking down at my parents realising they are no more and I burst into tears.

"Child!" An unfamiliar voice called out to me as I woke up realising that is was just a nightmare.

As I got up and realised that I was in hospital and was in a lot of pain. Not knowing why I was in hospital I questioned "Where are my mum and dad?" For some reason the nurse was in a big shock and walked fast as she can from the room, without answering my question that I asked.

After a while I heard the door squeak as it opened hoping that it was my mum and dad but it wasn't, it was a doctor and with the nurse who ran out from the room. The doctor examined me while I was clueless on what was happening, after the doctor looked through my reports and analysed me he finally spoke.

"Hi, my name is Dr Anderson" he said in a friendly voice. I replied back by giving Dr Anderson a smile because I couldn't talk in the pain I had in my head and around my body.

"Do you remember what happened yesterday." Dr Anderson voice turned serious.

I replied "Me and my parents were going to visit my grandma and after that I found my myself..." As I was about to continue it felt like a massive rock hit my head and I fainted.

I woke up with a noise like someone was talking and I noticed it was Dr Anderson. I couldn't help myself and interrupted him while he was talking to the nurse and asked " What happened to me and where are my parents?"

Dr Anderson totally ignored me and questioned me "How are you feeling?" I felt that something wasn't right and replied "I'm fine" just so that I can quickly get out from this room and go to my parents. Then I asked "Where are my parents?" I heard the nurse and Dr Anderson sigh.

The next thing I knew that Dr Anderson had a really serious face and stepped forward to me and said the unpleasant words "I'm really sorry but we couldn't help your parents." Then I hesitated and lowered my voice "What do you mean?"

" Mr Richard and Mrs Richard are no more." I felt a tear dropping on my hand, which made my hand shiver. While I was shocked Dr Anderson explained. "You and your parents had a car accident and luckily some how you survived but your parents didn't."

Without caring I was bandaged and was in pain, I ran out of the room and looked around for my parents but couldn't see them. I turned to Dr Anderson who followed me behind running, he took my shoulder and took me to a room.

I opened the door of the room and saw my parents lying down in peace. I walked as fast as I can shouted "Mum, Dad wake up, please wake up!" I stood there with no response but I didn't give up and continued talking "Mum, Dad remember when it was my seventh birthday, you asked me to wish something and I wished that both of you won't ever leave me alone in darkness." But again no response.

I couldn't stand what was happening to me and fell on the ground not knowing what to do, cry, scream or try to wake them up again.
