Chapter Seventeen: I Can't Afford This!

"What was that?" Bellona practically shouted in math. We were working on our warm-ups.

"What was what?" I asked while doing question 3.

"You and Darian!" Katie joined in. "I heard he is taking you to the dance!"

"Yeah?" I said in more of a question. I didn't even know what was going on between me and Dan. Are we friends? I mean he could be considered my friend right? "Not that big of a deal. He kept pestering me. Literally thats all he was doing."

"Bull!" Olivia gave me hard look.

"It just happened!" I exploded. I wanted to tell them, so I did.

"So are you guys like a couple?" Phoebe asked with eager eyes.

"No. Did you not listen? It was a bet and he lost, then made me feel bad so now I'm stuck going to the dance because I am easily guilt tripped." They all looked disappointed. "But he is taking me to the dance."

All of them said "Aw!"

"Omigosh!" Pheobe squealed. "Now we can all go dress shopping on Saturday!"

"Girls!" The teacher scolded us. "Get your work done!"

"Can't wait until Saturday!" Erica cheered quietly.

"No." Was there response when I came out in a yellow dress.

Right now it was Saturday. The whole week Dan kept pestering me with 20 questions. It was funny at first and kind of cute, but now it was just downright annoying! So anyways we are in the mythical mall and everyone has found their perfect dress except for me.

Olivia found her pink dress. It had a black bodice type thing and the skirt swayed with her every movement. The color was a hot pink, but it looked great on her.

Erica found a beautiful dark blue ball gown. The bust and stomach area was surrounded in jewels. It really showed off her tan well. The dress matched her.

Katie got a cute green long dress. It showed off her hourglass figure perfectly. The green made her eyes pop out more. Since we couldn't find green shoes that fit her dress, we found cute flower high heels.

Bellona bought a deep red scarlet dress. It was jewel-in-crusted all over. It was beautiful and really showed off her pale skin and jet black hair. She looked classy.

Phoebe got her dress next. Her personality was loud and friendly. So of course she got a bright color. The skirt of the dress was a bubble skirt and popped out a little. It was short, but still good for a formal dance.

"Who are you guys going to the dance with?" I asked them from the changing room.

"Well I'm going with Dax!" Olivia said. I could almost here the smile in her voice.

"Trevor asked me!" Erica smiled dreamily when I came out of the dressing room.

"No way!" I gasped.

"Jeremiah's taking me!" Katie squealed.

"Good." I said.

"I'm going with Adonis!" Phoebe bounced in her seat.

"I figured." I grinned.

"Paris asked me!" Bellona squealed as well.

"Why wasn't I aware of any of this? Feeling left out." I asked. "All of you found cool dates and I am stuck with Darian and his grandpa jokes!"
