Chapter Seven: School Is School No Matter What Dimension You're In
"Danai, can you please stop fidgeting in your damn seat?" Elias sighed dramatically. "Why are you nervous anyways?"
"Today was Monday. Last Friday was when I was attacked and when I was brought here. Saturday I found out I have powers and apparently I am the first and only one of my kind. Why shouldn't I be freaking out? Currently right now we are riding to their high school, the high school in which I will be attending! God! It's called Crescent Falls Prep for God's sake. Plus they make you were uniforms! I might as well look like I'm going to Catholic school which you guys probably don't even know what it is, but if you knew you would think the same thing! It has the whole plaid skirt that comes down to your knees and sweater vest type shirt thing for fucks sake. I've been to public schools all my life and never had to wear a uniform. Ever." I huffed annoyed. "I hate high school." I pulled on the hem of my skirt. "High school always sucks. It's the same everywhere."
"How many high schools have you gone too?" Ace asked turning around to face us in the passenger seat.
"I'm not sure." I frowned. "Maybe 6 or 7."
"Holy shit!" Elias saw the look Jase gave him from the drivers seat. "Why so many?"
"I moved around a lot. Foster home after foster home." I looked out the window. "But it's always the same. I hate high school."
"What's so bad about it?" Elias questioned.
"Teenagers always judge you and make fun. It's always the same." I sighed. "But now I'm here and still have to deal with it."
"Why did kids make fun of you?" Ace asked genuinely confused.
"Yeah, why? You seem like you would be popular in high school." Elias said looking at me strangely.
What he said made me smile. "Because of my birthmark and name. Plus what I dressed in. Since I was in foster care and all my foster parents, everyone one of them, didn't have a ton of money for clothes. I dressed very ghetto my friend. Like you have no idea."
"And that happened in every high school you attended?" Ace looked at me, quirking his eyebrow.
"Pretty much. Now you see why I hate high school." I replied when the car came to a halt.
"Don't worry, Danai. This high school will be better." Jase assured me. "Now knock them dead. Not literally, I meant it figuratively."
"I know. Will do." I laughed.
"Oh! Guys before I forget, go show her the main office so she can get her schedule and stuff." She called after us from the car window.
"Okay, mom." Elias shouted while sticking out his arm. "Come along miss Danai. We have a lot to do today."
I laughed, but took his arm anyways. "Can I ask you guys a question?"
"You already have." Ace smirked at me.
"Can I ask you three than." I smirked back at him.
"Ah now you ruined it!" He pouted. "But what's your question?"
"If you guys are vampires and stuff, don't you guys have like special needs?" I asked awkwardly.
All three of them laughed. "Yes we do have special needs. It's called blood needs. We have blood every day."
I looked at them weird. "Then where was it when we ate spaghetti and meatballs? And at the party? What about here?"
"Well we had a glass of blood before dinner so we wouldn't freak you out. Have you seen the glasses of wine at the party?" He asked looking at me.
