I wonder why Aya didn't show up today. She didn't tell me that she's not coming- actually, she didn't tell me that she's going too. Maybe her parents didn't let her join  or something. It's sort of a good thing though. Tingin ko kasi I needed to be away from Aya for a short while to gain my self-esteem back. My insecurities are eating me alive. Since I befriended her, crying at night became a daily habit.

If she only knows how much I envy her.

I gazed around- there's no sign of Zeke too. Hindi siya sumama?

My smile fell into a frown. Aya and Zeke didn't go. Is it possible that they're together right now? I hope it's just entirely coincidental. I shook my head. I'm here for a retreat. I'm not supposed to be thinking about my heartaches.

On the bright side, wala rin ang anak ni Satanas a.k.a Zachary. Of course, he wouldn't go. Baka masunog lang siya sa retreat house. I giggled. "Ate Quinn! Kuya Shine! Picture tayo." I bursted out laughing. Kuya Shine? It doesn't sound right.

Zerena is so naive- I mean it in a cute way.

"How dare you call me kuya?! I'm a she! I'm an ate!" Shine said while glaring at Zerena. She looks so funny I wanted to laugh at her, but I kepy my cool. Kung iba siguro ang tumawag sa kanya ng kuya Shine, malamang lumanding na sa mukha ng taong yun ang bagong manicure niyang kamay.

"Kuya Shine sounds nice." I teased.

Shine narrowed her eyes at me. Opsieee. I just showed her a peace sign.

We're currently inside the bus. Pupunta kami sa Retreat House sa Tagaytay for our annual retreat. It's not really mandatory,so only a few of us joined. 6 buses lang ang napuno ng juniors at seniors. I turned to face Johan- he's sitting near the window, gazing at the view. He seemed to be lost in his sea of thoughts.

"Johan by any chance, si Aya ba yung tinutukoy mong bestfriend?" I've been dying to ask him since I saw him and Aya together- there's a certain glow in his eyes whenever he's talking to her. I think now's my chance to know.

He just stared at me then he faced the window again. Is that supposed to be a yes or a no?

"Yes, Quinn. She's the girl that I told you about." My mouth slightly parted. Hearing it from him still shocked me.

"Kwing! Sabi nang palit tayo ng upuan e! Pleaseee! I want to sit next to that hottie." Shine said while pointing her lips at Johan. I mentally facepalmed myself. Of course, Johan's also a good-looking guy. I stuck my tongue out. "Mainggit ka"

Zerena laughed at my childish act. Si Shine naman padabog na sumandal sa upuan niya.

I sighed heavily. "It's sad that things aren't falling in their rightful places." Johan gave me a faint smile.

"No, It's just that fate isn't on our sides." Well, when will it be in our favor? Waiting for Zeke is like waiting for rain in a deserted place.
