Chapter eighteen

P.O.V. of Jade

Soon after my face had hit shika's chest I blacked out. I had used all my chakra up, exhausting all my energy. I don't know how long I was out for but when I woke up, we were sitting by a shore. The others were scattered about. Naruto trying to catch fish, sasuke working on the fire and Sakura sitting next to me.

I sit up slowly feeling pain still in my head. "You are awake!" Sakura says.

"How long was I out?"

"A while," sasuke says. He looks over at me for a second but when we meet each others eyes he looks away. I try to stand up but start to fall over but someone catches me.

"You know it would be better to not have a fire. It lets the others know where you are," I look at who was holding me up. It was the guy from the first test, I still didn't know his name.

"Why are you here?" Naruto asks.

"Well, to help of course. I already got both scrolls so why not." He says, sasuke pulls me away from him. "I was supposed to wait for me team but I have no idea where they are." He smiles at us. There is something wrong with him but I just can't put my finger on it.

"Guys we could use some help," Sakura says walking over with naruto in tow. I sigh and take the fish and start to cook. They make a plan but I don't really pay attention to them. The next few hours are a blur, there was fighting, sneaking, and entering the tower with both scrolls. Since the encounter with Orochimaru I have been feeling off, I can tell that sasuke wasn't the same either. I was going to the bathroom when the rest of my team decided to open the scroll.

When I get back I see Iruka sensei standing there. When he see's me I see him smile. "Jade! It's so good to see you!" He says. He catches us up and tells us about what is going to happen next in the exam. Still feeling out of it tho I don't really pay attention. I look over and see Sasuke looking at me worried.

Out of all the people to worry, it has to be him. He should be focusing on himself more.
