Callie's POV

"Callie, are you ready yet?" Danny yells from the other room.

"Just about!" I call back, pulling my gloves and hat out of the suitcase. He doesn't reply. I shrug to myself, jam the hat onto my head, and tug my gloves on. I walk out into the living room and look around.

"They're outside, possibly waiting to ambush you," Jessie tells me, looking up from her book. "If I were you, I'd go out through the kitchen and go around. Ruin their little plan."

I grin and reply, "Thanks for the tip!" I hurry out of the kitchen and into the snow-covered yard. Quickly, I make two snowballs and sneak around to the front yard. I pause for a second, listening.

"I thought you said that she said she was just about ready when you came out?" Mr. Cornish asks, confused.

"Yeah, I did... Do you think Jess tipped her off?" Danny replies.

"I guess it's possible..." At this point, I slip around the side of the house and creep closer to them. When I'm a few feet away, I throw the snowballs at them, hitting Danny in the back and Mr. Cornish in the chest. They both immediately focus their attention on me, evil smiles forming on their faces. I take a few steps back uncertainly. They look at each other once and Mr. Cornish says, "Get her!"

They jump from their posts, scooping up massive amounts of snow as they go, and start to chase me. After a minute or two, they catch me; mostly because my legs are much shorter than theirs and it's not easy running through thick snow. They dump the snow on me, almost crushing me. I pout at them while they laugh and high-five each other. "Aww, c'mon, Callie, lighten up," Danny says, chuckling. "We can build the snow fort, now."

I smile and we set about making a snow fort. They agreed to help me build a snow fort on our last day. Danny, Jessie, and I are leaving tonight after dinner. Several hours pass, during which time we've managed to build an entire snow palace complete with snowman guards, until Jessie calls, "Dinner's ready!"

We get up and hurry inside, stripping heavy snow gear off as we enter. We sit down at the table with Jessie and Mrs. Cornish. Everyone takes massive servings of pasta and meatballs. Dinner is pretty quiet, too. Everyone's either too busy cramming food in their face to talk or not willing to break the peaceful silence. After twenty minutes or so, everyone finishes and we clear our plates. "Well, we better go pack," Jessie murmurs after a minute.

Danny, Jessie and I get up and walk into our respective rooms and start throwing everything into our bags. After a few minutes, we finish packing and walk out into the living room. We say our goodbyes and walk outside into the taxi they called for us. Danny gives the cabby his address and we set off. I must fall asleep at some point during the ride, because the next thing I know I'm sliding out of the cab and into Danny's arms. I wrap my legs around his waist and rest my head on his shoulder.

We walk up to the first floor and down the short hallway to reach his flat. Before we reach his flat, however, he freezes mid-step and almost drops me. I probably would have fallen if my legs hadn't been wrapped around his waist. I look over my shoulder and find a very tall woman standing in front of Danny's door. I feel another pair of arms wrap around me and Jessie takes me from Danny. Several seconds pass in tense silence. Finally, Danny speaks.

"Irma."
