After 5 months
"Elijah! Come on, you're going to be late again!" I exclaimed, grabbing my purse and car keys, opening the door.
"Yeah! Just a minute." She replied and a crash was heard inside her room and a curse after.
I chuckled and shook my head, my phone vibrated. I fished it out and a message flashed on the screen.
Auden, Mrs. Stevens needed you here. She wants to ask a question about our product.

I read as Elijah came out of her room, frizzy hair, bag slinging on her shoulder.
"You just woke up, did you?" She sheepishly smiled. I rolled my eyes at her, but I exited through the door, her following me.
"Are you going to the store after you drive me to school?" She asked as we exited the house.
"Yeah. Jane said Mrs. Stevens needed me there, so I might not get you later." I said to her and she nodded.
"It's fine. I'll just take the bus home later." She said and I nodded at her as we go to my car.
We get inside and I started the engine and drove out the highway to school.
She turned the radio on and a song played, familiar voices started singing and she bobbled her head to the music.
When we both fall asleep underneath the same sky.
To the beat of our hearts at the same time.
So close but so far away.
The song was pretty good and those voices are really familiar, and I can't help but asked, "what song is that?"
She sleeps alone.
My heart wants to come home.

She lies awake.
I'm trying to find the words to say.

She turned to me and grinned, "Beside You," she said.
Another day and I'm somewhere new.
I made a promise that I'll come home soon.
Bring me back, bring me back to you.
"Whose song is it?"
"5SOS." She said and my lips slightly turned down and she frowned as she saw my face.
"Oh my gosh. Sorry, Aud. I thought..." she trailed off and I shook my head at her.
"It's fine. It's been five months, it's in the past now. So it's okay." I reassured her.
She nodded, but still in disbelief and continued watching the buildings blurred as we drove while the music plays in the background.
We arrived at the school a few minutes later, I stopped the car and I turned to her.
"This is your stop. Go kick them with your bad ass self." I said, smiling ear to ear. She returned my smile with a grin and hugged me, "bye, Aud." She kissed my cheek and pulled away from me.
