On my way to Pete's, I had a smile on my face that just wouldn't go away. Pete always knew how to lift my mood when I was upset. It was like he understood in a way.

   As soon as his house came into view, I ran inside without even knocking. He was in the kitchen getting a drink from the fridge when I entered. Before he could even question my presence, I ran up to him and plastered his face with small kisses.

"What was that for?" He asked when I pulled back staring deep into his eyes.

"Just wanted to let you know that I love you" I said pulling the him into a hug. We stay there for a minute, my face buried in his messy hair. After a minute or so of silence, Pete looked back up at me.

"Videos games?" He asked as if that was even a question.

"Obviously"I said grabbing his hand and running over to the couch. He threw me a controller before putting the disc in. I had to hold back a sigh when I heard the familiar melody.

"Mario kart, really?" I asked, receiving a very offended look from my boyfriend  

"I'll have you know that this is the most amazing game ever and you're just jealous that I always win." He lied to me. I don't remember the last time Pete actually won this game, but I go along with it anyways.

"Okay, but I call dibs on yoshi." I say as he takes a seat next to me.

"But you always get him!" We whined looking over at me, a pout now on his face.

"Exactly, it's a tradition, I can't break it now." I fought back. He just rolled his eyes at me and settled for toad.

"LOOK WHO WON AGAIN" I yell as I cross the finish line in first for the fifth time in a row.

"That's not fair, you blue shelled me!" He huffed, tossing the remote next to him and turning his whole body to face me.

"What now?" He asked, clearly not wanting to lose anymore. I just shrugged, not really in the mood to do much.

"What about a movie?" I offer, too tired to do anything else. He just nodded in response and grabbed his phone.

"I'll order some pizza, you pick out a movie." He said gesturing to his large dvd collection. I walked over to the movies and browsed them for a while, eventually deciding on Lion King. As I finished setting up the DVD player, Pete walked back in and wrapped his arms around me.

"What movie did you pick?" He asked, as we both settled on the couch. We had grabbed pillows and blankets from Pete's room to make it more comfortable.

"The Lion King" I respond, making Pete to squeal.

"I love that movie!" He exclaimed, his eyes glowing now more than ever.

"I've never seen it." I admitted, which I almost instantly regretted. Pete just froze and looked mad. Why did he look mad?

"You...you what, now"he asked, his cold eyes gazed upon me as if I was some sort of alien.

"I never saw this movie" I repeat in the same tone, a little louder this time. This caused him to just freak out.

"How have you never seen it? What kind of childhood did you have?" He asked me in a serious voice. I didn't think it was that big of a deal until now.

"I don't know, I guess it just never happened. It's not that big of a deal." I told him sitting down. He just mumbled something incoherent under his breath and took a seat next to me.

"'Not that big of a deal' psh that's like saying you've never heard music, or never read a book. It's something everyone ha to experience at least once." He told me sternly as if this was all really important and I'd have a test later.
Before I could defend myself anymore, the doorbell rang signaling that the pizza was here.

"I got it" Pete said standing up and heading over the door. I follow after him not really knowing what else to do.

"Do you think everybody should see the Lion King at least once in there lives?" Pete asked the pizza guy.

"Yeah, it's a classic" he responded giving Pete a questioning look.

"See, Mikey!" Pete exclaimed, causing my cheeks to heat up. I did not want to go through this again.

"Wait, you've never seen it?" The still un-named pizza guy asked, also shocked.

"No..." I mutter, still extremely embarrassed from this. "I just don't see the big deal over it." I said so they could both hear me.

"You have to be kidding me!" Pete said, glaring at me. "It's the best Disney movie ever!"

     I looked over at the pizza guy who looked really uncomfortable being here. I mean I would probably also be if two grown men were arguing over the lion king.

"Here, keep the change." I said giving him some money and taking the pizza into the living room. Pete settled down next to me, grabbing a slice for both of us. He cuddled closer to me as the movie began.

"You're gonna love it." He said looking up at me. "Promise."

By the end of the movie I was just staring at the screen. How have I never seen that before? That was amazing. I went to go tell Pete how right he was, but when I looked down he was asleep. I just sighed and pulled him closer to me, placing a kiss on his forehead.

"Goodnight Petey" I mumble before falling asleep next to him, not ready for tomorrow's events.
